DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

The North Face DryVent

The North Face DryVent
Dryvent™ fabrics are engineered to be fully waterproof, windproof and breathable. The outer face of the textile is treated with a durable water repellant finish that helps form droplets and repel water from the surface. Each multi layered textile is engineered to allow water vapor to pass through from the inside to the outside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bought it for daughter - I want it now! I bought this for my teenage daughter and she loves it. Her Wisconsin high school has multiple buildings, so the kids wear their coats all day. this one was perfect because it's not too bulky and she loves the longer length for when she wears long shirts/sweaters. During the week of zero degree temps, she said this coat kept her perfectly warm. In the spring, she can remove the inner jacket for a lightweight spring coat. And that inner jacket, will be perfect to wear alone this fall. It really is three different coats for one price. Her favorite feature: tucked in the pocket, a handy attached screen wiping cloth for her phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mom In-Law Impressed My wife and I bought this for her mother. She is very picky. Loves the jacket thought. Very stylish, warm, and great for a midwest winter. The jacket has a ton of great features that would make it a great ski jacket/shell. Zipper in very convenient spots. A wind skirt that snaps into the jacket so it doesn't flop around when not in use. I really like this feature. Great jacket overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Ski Jacket I bought this jacket mainly for downhill skiing. I have always gotten traditional insulated jackets in the past but would get annoyed at the end of the season when it would be way to warm for them so I decided to get a 3 in 1 to try and solve this. I looked at a lot of them and eventually settled on North Face as they had the best features and price. I have taken it out a couple times now and have been impressed with it. It has been warm when I needed it and the vents under the arms bring enough fresh air in to cool it down while skiing but not so cold that I need to zip them back up every time I'm on a lift. The length is great, especially the longer back so that it covers my back and doesn't ride up. I do wish it had was an inside breast pocket for my phone and money/cards. I can keep them in the outside breast pocket well enough but I do prefer having that inside pocket for extra security. It would have also been nice to have a place to attach wickets to for ski passes or even a season pass pocket. My last jacket had one of those and it was very nice not having to unzip every time I had to get checked. The sleeve length is also a bit short if you want to wear them over gloves or mittens. My mittens have a bit of a cuff so I can do it ok but if yours don't it might be difficult. The zippers are a bit skinny so aren't always super easy to zip up unfortunately but that's a small thing that I probably just have to get used to. I ordered the Quail Grey color and, while it is definitely more lavender than grey, I do like the color a lot and get many compliments on it. Overall I really like the jacket and would recommend it to other people.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the shell, not so much on the liner I picked this coat up from the post office yesterday - I feel it fits true to size, though a bit smaller than the Thermoball jacket I own. I love the shell - it doesn't feel plastic-y (which I hate with waterproof coats) the hood is perfect, sleeve length is great. the invisible style zippers are a bit picky, but I think thats more about getting used to them. I am larger chested (38F) and this shell does not smoosh my chest the way A LOT of coats do. I forsee a lot of wet west coast rainforest hikes in this jacket. The insulated liner however - its stiff, fits small (smaller than the shell, by quite a bit) - its easily a full size smaller in cut than my thermoball jacket and they are both marked the same size. I may use it, or I may just pair the shell with my previously mentioned thermoball jacket. all in all I am happy with my purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Jacket - Not the best for Petites I wanted to love this jacket. The ability to choose between multiple layers seamlessly is a great option. I loved the color and the ski features it has. I'm about 5'4 and 105 lbs, and this jacket was too large and long on me. The tail in the back reached between my knees and hips. I had to return it. I would recommend it for someone taller.
