Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought this for my picky daughter My 21 yr old daughter told me she wanted a warm North Face for Christmas. ,,,,This coat is lightweight but warm. This coat truly is a 3 in one coat. The outer shell alone is a raincoat with a full hood. The inner layer is a warm jacket. Together they make a very warm coat that works on the coldest days here in North Carolina. It can get as cold at the teens here in the South. ,,,,The color combinations are awesome. I purchased the Salmon pink/hot pink coat. It is highly visible from a distance. The zippers are high quality so they will break easily. The sizing is true. ,,,,My daughter loves this coat. It was well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and warm Let me start out my saying I'm not an outdoorsy person. I really hate being cold so I wanted a really warm coat. I can't speak to how great it is when climbing mountains but I can tell you it's great for normal life. I ordered 4 coats to try out from different brands and retailers. This coat won even though it was about twice the price. It's warm and comfortable. It's thick but not hard to move around in. When fully zipped, the collar does not stab you in the face. The design is slimming and cold air doesn't come in around your waist when you bend over. I love 3 in 1 coats. It gives you a lot of options and doesn't take up a bunch of room in your closet. One complaint, I wish the hood was a little warmer and was a little easier to adjust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great first impression Bought this coat for my wife as a Christmas gift. She absolutely loves the look and the feel of it. Unfortunately the temperature on Christmas Day was 56 degrees F and hasn't been much colder since, so I can't speak on the coats performance. Will update this post if Old Man Winter decides to pay us a visit soon. This was my first time buying from Moosejaw and it was a GREAT experience, best price by far and super fast shipping. Will definitely be buying more in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You won't regret it!! absolutely in LOVE with this jacket! It's super warm and cozy, and easily comes apart into 2 different jackets for warmer weather! The color schemes are unique and gorgeous! Plenty of pocket space to hold all of your personal belongings. The hood large enough for massive amounts of hair (like mine!) and will keep your head warm and dry. I own several north face jackets and this is by far my favorite! An absolute must have if you live anywhere with a brutal winter like PA!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light and flexible, but warm! I really love this 3-in-1 jacket. When worn together, it's light and flexible (not bulky), and it will keep you toasty. I use the shell as a rain jacket or a spring/fall jacket. I wear the inside on backpacking trips for an extra layer of warmth on chilly nights. It really love how versatile it is. The only think I wish were different is that the inside were a smidge longer. It's fine when I wear it all together, but the when I wear the inside alone, it's a bit short for my average-length torso. Also, armpit zippers on the shell are magical!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile and Warm I purchased this as a gift for my girlfriend as she needed a jacket that both kept her warm and dry. It does both and acts as a fantastic windbreaker. She is very sensitive to the cold and said that even in temperatures nearing 20 degrees Fahrenheit that she felt comfortable. This jacket also kept her incredibly dry during moderate to heavy rain and she even takes out the inner layer when at work and wears it to stay warm as her office thermostat is run by somebody who spent a few too many years in Scotland. Overall, this is a durable jacket that keeps her warm and dry and is versatile enough to be used as both a winter jacket and a summer rain jacket with the removal of the inner layer. It also has plenty of pocket space for her to fit her wallet and phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely amazing Best purchase of the year - this jacket is seriously the best. Soo warm in cold weather (even below freezing) but doesn't bake you when you're not outside - in the car, in a store, etc. Really easy to move in despite being two layers. Fit is true to size and it just looks great on. Has great pockets and the adjustable sleeves are perfect for someone with shorter arms. I honestly will miss wearing this coat when it gets warm! And as always Moosejaw has the best prices and BEST customer service out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This jacket is awesome There are a few reasons I love this jacket:,,1. It fits nicely,,When wearing the inner and outer coats together, it feels like someone is constantly giving me a gentle, warm hug all over. The waist is just tight enough to keep the cold air out, and the rest is snug but not too snug at all.,,2. Warmth,,I'm in college in Upstate NY, where it's frequently below zero with three feet of snow, and I'm fine. On autumn and spring days the inner jacket is fine by itself, or I wear the outer jacket by itself if it's raining (nice waterproofing).,,3. Pockets!,,There are like five pockets on this thing, and they're huge! I can fit both of my gloved hands, my wallet, keys, and phone in there no problem. It's wonderful really. And the outer ones are fuzzy.,,4. Hood,,It's a solid hood. No more to say,,5. Colors,,Because who doesn't love a good color scheme?,,Overall, I have nothing bad to say. Hope you love it too!

Can this be used as a ski jacket?

Asked by: Jpg123
Hey there, While this jacket is not specifically designed for skiing, it can definitely be used for it! Because it is waterproof and insulated it will keep you warm and dry on the slopes, but the hood will not be compatible with a ski helmet, and it does not have a powder skirt.

I consider myself overweight, 200lbs at 5'7 I want to order this jacket in XL, but the comments all seem to indicate that they are form fitting. Will XL even work for me? :(
