Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best bag I have ever had for adventures! I absolutely love this backpack! It is the perfect size for a day hikes or longer hikes. I have not used it for backpacking in general yet, but even if I did I am sure I would be happy with it as it makes you to double think how much do you want to carry with it and so far it has been perfect choice for camping, hiking adventures outdoors on the beach and forest hikes. It carries all ym camping gear (cold/warm cloth, sleeping bag, sleeping mattress, outdoor cooking kitchen trangia, 2l of bottles, and all other tiny things like lights, knive, camping kitchen cup, plate, etc, you name it you know). The only problem I have sometimes is what another person had mentioned - after a long day of hike a belt strap on the body/hips might a bit hurt, there is something with the fabric I found a bit not ok (have used it so far only on hot summer days - Sweden), but I guess with autumn campings it might be ok! Another thing was that I found the upper pocket a bit too loose... but it's not something what makes this bag bad! I love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect. So lightweight I thought my boyfriend had removed it from the box. Lot's of room for everything and enough pockets to keep things organized. Very comfortable and easy to adjust to your torso size. Finally someone made a pack for a 15 inch torso that is big enough for everything I needed for 10 days in Yosemite's back country. However the bottom is not very durable, I already have several small holes/cuts and many abrasions where the fabric has gotten very thin on the bottom side of the pack after a single 10 day outing. It is showing more wear than my old pack which is 10 plus years old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from OBsessed with this pack! I do a lot of backpacking and traveling and this pack holds everything that I need, whether I'm gone for an overnight or five weeks, with easy accessibility, durability and a fantastic ergonomic fit! My only complaint about this pack is that it doesn't have a built in rain cover that pulls out of the bottom, but that is not a huge worry unless it is pouring outside since the pack is water resistant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Far So Good I have only used it to travel, not yet on a backpacking trip. But it has plenty of room and sits great against your back, and doesn't pull away and kill your shoulders like my last bag. Hope to take it out on a trip soon!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome pack - lightweight yet carries weight well I've had this pack for close to a year and I'm very happy with it. I love how lightweight it is while still having plenty of pockets for organization. The two long outside pockets and the beaver-tail are fantastic, and the side mesh pockets stretch out plenty for a 1 liter bottle or other gear. And, importantly, the pack is great for carrying weight (I typically carry 30-40 lbs). It took me a while to settle on a pack because I had these competing interests (weight of pack vs functionality), but this pack beat out the competition with a nice balance of features. The adjustability of the pack is also great. I use this primarily for search and rescue, and I can be pretty hard on my gear, but so far the pack has held up well. I somehow managed to get a small hole in the mesh of the beaver-tail pocket, but that's the only wear I can see and it hasn't affected functionality. Now for a few nitpicks: -I wish the hydration sleeve was a little larger. It's a pain putting in my 3L hydration bladder and the top of it sticks out of the sleeve. It still works, but it would be nice if the sleeve was taller. I also wish the port for the tube was bigger. My bite valve has a cover, and I can barely get it through the port. -It would be nice if the hipbelt pockets were slightly bigger so I could comfortably carry my phone in them. I have a pretty burly case on my phone, so others may not have this issue. -If it's a long day, I sometimes get a little bit of bruising over my collarbone and one spot under the hipbelt. I would be curious to see how I would fare if the foam in the hip belt and shoulder straps had just a little more give. This is a problem I've had with pretty much all of the packs I've owned though, so it really does not take away from the overall awesomeness of the pack. The good for this pack far outweighs the nitpicks. I'm really happy with it, and when it has reached end of life, I expect I'll be buying another Banchee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for Hiking I have now taken this pack on two trips to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It endured hot weather and cold, rain and sun, being over and under-stuffed. My shoulders and neck were as comfortable as could be for carrying as much weight as I was, and I love that there are plenty of ways to adjust the size of the pack and length of the straps. The only downside, and I plan on sending it in for a repair, but one of the elastic bungee-cord straps that helped hold the divider between the upper pack and the sleeping bag compartment snapped with not a lot of pull on it. The other three are just fine, so I think it was probably a fluke and not a design flaw. Also, I should include that I am 5'2" and under 130 lbs. The pack is great for my size and adjustable so that it fits me right at every cure. I would definitely recommend this pack to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best backpack This backpack is awesome, from the color down to the amount it carries. Incredibly comfortable pack, very easy adjustments for petite women like myself. The way the pack sits it doesn't feel like you are falling over backward, it's very easy to carry. Should straps have great padding and have great endurance. I would recommend this pack for any woman.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally! A pack that carries all my gear and fits! I've tried no less than eight big-name packs in a long attempt to find a pack that was well under four pounds and could still carry 30 pounds of gear comfortably. Fit is so important on a long hike that I'm willing to work around any pack feature shortcomings as long as it's properly fitted. Well, with the Banchee 65 I don't have to sacrifice all the nice features hikers prefer to have on any pack! My torso has been measured several times at just under 16 inches. None of the other brands have a pack on the market that fit AND carried my gear without putting any pressure on my shoulders (and I've tried all of them!). I was really getting discouraged until I decided to go out on a limb and try a pack without any customer reviews. The Banchee 65 fits my small torso and provides excellent padding around my hips. Internal space is just right for all my gear and two long front pockets hold just about everything a hiker would need to grab during the day. The pack has a great ergonomic design, wider at the base and then seems to curl around and toward my body so that there is no pulling on my shoulders. The kangaroo pouch does extend as much as one needs to stuff a rain jacket or other "might need" gear. I do wish the side mesh pockets were longer, larger and made from a stretchier material as they will not accommodate any disposable 1 liter bottles, but that is my only complaint. The pockets on the waist straps are roomy enough for phone, ipod, or camera. I've hiked the first 200 miles of the AT with the other packs I tried, and return on 4/1/14 to finish the rest of the AT with my new North Face Banchee 65.
