Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it - but problems with outside pockets I bought this pack for multi day hiking when needing to carry a couple of changes of clothing, etc. Padding is nice and comfortable. But outside pockets on the hip belt and lateral sides of the pack are way too snug. It was easy to store items when pack was off, but too tight to manage once pack was on. In addition, the maximum bladder size is 50 ounces. Anything larger crimps at the bottom and water will not flow. The shoulder straps twist too easily as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love everything except the ,'curl-prone', shoulder straps Travel writer Found I needed help, when bag was fully loaded, to adjust one 'curled' shoulder strap whether putting on or taking off. (Would like designers to look at this issue! THANKS) Was a nuisance!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes. I would buy this back pack again I bought this backpack for my grandaughters for school and camp, they just love them , we had many different kinds of packs, the northface, covers all there needs. And looks good too! Very happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As convertible as it is cute! I use this backpack for school and also day trips on the trails. So far, it has been super comfortable, and although it seems a little heavy when you lift it(even with nothing in it), once it's on your back, the straps distribute the weight well enough that you no longer feel as if you are carrying full water bottles or textbooks! My favorite feature might be the easily storable hip straps because it allows me to use the same bag for when I'm walking through campus and don't need or want the extra support that the straps would provide while hiking. I also love that the bag has the smaller front compartment with the various little pockets because I am someone who needs to compartmentalize. That was one of the features that I specifically bought this bag for.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Clothes Ruiner The Velcro bottom where the rain cover is stored has running +$200 worth of my clothing. It is easy to misalign and when it is, it chafes the clothing, causing snags and rubbing of material. Poor design, unhappy that it took to that long to realize that it was ruining my pants (Lulus) and expensive shirts.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from wish this had not been made "women specific" or updated First I want to say that I LOVED the Angstrom 30 that I bought many years ago. I took that bag traveling, hiking, and running nearly every day for four or five years, until the waist strap finally broke and I came looking for the exact same thing. I got this bag as a Christmas present and at first was SO VERY excited. Within the first three miles of the first run, it had ripped up the back of my wool running top. Very confused, I kept looking for the source of the rub. Turns out, the rain cover, which had originally been tucked into a side pocket, was now in the bottom of the bag. This seems like a great design update, except the velcro runs in a long horizontal seam across your back. I tried so many things and in the end, after two ruined shirts, just ripped the velcro out. Fine. The other thing I noticed at the time is that the top sticks way out, so much so that it interferes with my pony tail. This was certainly not in the original design. Is it in the non women's specific bag too?? Now comes warmer weather. The first time I wear this in a short sleeve, non-turtleneck shirt, it chafes my neck within the first mile. It's because the straps at the shoulder are so narrow, and as I mentioned before, the top (where the handle is) sticks out a good 2 inches _over_ the straps. In order to keep the bag from bouncing, I have to pull every single strap as tight as it will possibly go, and then there's basically a nylon V cutting into the back of my head. As a longtime runner, very disappointed by this update. Wouldn't buy again.
