The North Face Women's Aconcagua Jacket is a lightweight down jacket for daily life and day hikes in the cold of winter. Puffy enough to let others know you're surrounded by plenty of 550 fill down to make it in the snowy outdoors, but not so much that you're looking like a marshmallow. The diamond shaped baffles keep the down in place while flattering your figure in an active, slimmer fit. Zippered hand pockets are there to shelter your gloves when not on your hands and even hold onto your phone when you're not busy texting your best pal. A wind flap over the front zipper and elastic cuffs deter drafts from sneaking their way inside, so you can power walk from class to class or hike the snowy trails. Drop the weight but not the warmth with this insulator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice fit - I haven't had a chance to wear this yet in cold weather, but I like the light weight of the jacket

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect coat We bought this for winter and the price was really great. It fits my daughter and me both. You will definitely have to wear long sleeves under it to be the warmest but that should be fine. All our North Face jackets have help up great so I'm sure this one will too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect coat! Like baby bear's porridge, the best way I can describe this coat is just right. It's not a jumbo marshmallow; it doesn't pack down to the size of a dime - it holds its own in this perfect place of existence between the two. The small fits perfectly: a bit roomy in the arms and tight in the hips for me, but I've got XS arms and M hips. So it should fit a true small like a glove. The angles and placement of the stitches are actually flattering (which is saying a lot for a puffy coat, no?). The material has a look to it that I'd describe as neither matte nor shiny, exactly: more of a... sheen?? Whatever, it's NICE. :) I'll be wearing it all winter. Thanks TNF!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I spend a lot of time outside in windy, foggy, and chilly weather . I have several North Face jackets, including the agave and the thermoball. I love the Anconcagua. It is warmer than the others that I own, but is still not too bulky. Only downside is that it runs large.

Why does the black look so boxy and the other colors look fitted?

Asked by: Sandstorm
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us. You bring up a great point. As I'm sure you noticed, the black is the only color where we used a real person to model the jacket. While the other colors had mannequins to show the form and fitted look of the jacket, our model wanted to show that you can also get this jacket in a larger size, in case you wanted to layer underneath. Hope this helped you out!

Is the black Anaconda jacket shiny? In the pictures it looks that way. But the ones I've seen in the stores are just a regular flat black.

Asked by: Ara43
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! TNF Aconcagua Jacket in black is matte finished, but looks glossy in the light. I hope this helps and doesn't confuse!

What temperatures is this jacket best suited for?

Asked by: girlmom
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! Actually, this coat does not have a temperature rating. In fact, most coats do not have temperature ratings. This is for several reasons. Mainly, it's because warmth is a subjective thing, unique to each person. Not only that, but there are other factors that can affect a person's (jacket's) warmth: wind, humidity, activity level, what else your wearing, etc. However, there are still helpful hints you can use to guide you. Best bet will be to check the insulation. The higher the fill, the warmer the jacket. That should be your basic rule of thumb. For this jacket, it has a 550 fill power down. That's a good sign that this jacket will be keeping you warm. Hope this helped you out!

Would this be warm enough to ski in for a few hours, given average cold weather/not below freezing?

Asked by: Megan
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! You bring up an excellent question. We've had plenty of customers who've used this for skiing, no problem. I'd just recommend layering underneath. Hope this helped you out!
