Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfort, quality, another great North Face product Very easy to set up and take down, but at the same time it feels very sturdy. I love the versatility of the two-door design and the storage options (pockets for small/medium sized items in each corner, two vestibules when using the rain fly, gear loft). I think it's a great two person tent, three would be pushing it (all adults), and four would be only for minimalist adventurers. However, I would feel comfortable using it car camping with my wife and two girls (4 & 10 months) where we could store most of our gear in the SUV and have a good amount of room in the tent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Superior Tent Love this tent. Kept us dry in torential downpour Conecticut rain in March. We could fit a queen air mattress in there and had plenty of room around the perimeter to organize our essential items. Very sleek and classy looking from the outside. Love this tent. Wish the top was able to fully come off to expose the whole night sky, but we camp so hard that we fall asleep almost immediately anyway!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent tent Very good tent. Highlighly recommend. It fitted my family of four very well and still had room for backpacks. Very nice design and color. I got a lot of compliments. Easy to build. You can notice the material quality right away. Which is very good quality. I highly recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from What happened to zip windows and screens? Considering this tent but wish NF would go back to zip windows and doors. I'm willing to pay more for that. Perhaps cheaper manufacturing costs? Lighter weight? It's nice to have more control/options over ventilation and privacy. Flies are too claustrophic when it's not raining. I have an older model Talus 3 with zip screen covers on the windows, doors and ceiling. I LOVE that tent - I have taken it everywhere, including two 18-day Grand Canyon trips. You can start out with everything open but zip up a bit when it cools down. But it's too small now that I'm more of a car camper and want room for us and the dog. I would love a bigger Talus, but don't want all of that mesh all the time. On the other hand, my old Talus3 is still going strong.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A nomadic abode for my small family Used it on an 11 night camping trip across Iceland. It was our first time ever camping, and we were extremely worried that the tent may not withstand the harsh weather conditions in Iceland, but to our surprise. It took rain, it took storm and kept us cool when he sun came out. We were extremely impressed by the product, and my 4 year old daughter had enough room for the two of us and our 3 year old daughter. My daughter loved the space and sense of adventure. The tent had enough room for our luggage too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very light 4p tent This 4p tent is light enough for backpacking but roomy enough to sleep a family of 4. We enjoyed using it on our short (over-night) backpacking trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight Palace for 4 Living in the Central Valley of California we see weeks of 99F+ days and many backpacking areas radiate that heat at you day and night. Talus 4 vents the scorching heat perfectly when the rain-fly is stowed away. With plenty of room for three adults and most gear (shoes/boots outside in one of the two vestibules), you will likely place all gear outside in vestibules when sleeping four people. Zippers run fluidly on both opposing doors and the rain-flys. Every facet of the design works well. The ceiling gear-loft is an ideal hammock for flashlights, eyeglasses, whistles, etc. The four corner mesh-pockets are ample for the stuff of each resident (pocket knives, compasses, dog leash, etc.) I put binoculars, cameras, tripods, water bottles on the floor. One of my camping buddies has a young (8-month old) Rottweiler pup that will need a wee bit more training to get used to the mesh walls, ceiling and doors so he notices the no-see-um mesh as a barrier instead of a lunging exit. He also will be able to sit-up at night and scan the night movements of critters ---- but that is what training is about --- to give him a tent home that offers companionable shelter and the training to find the tent's features comforting. An Easter trip to a California lakeside in 2016 included this puppy in my North Face VE-25 (utterly brilliant tent design and durability) and the chance to realize a night-time fright for the puppy can result in the mosquito-netting door being ripped --- thus necessitating the purchase of the Talus 4 as an interim shelter while North Face repair services did their magic. After 4 backpacking trips with Talus 4, I might just use the VE-25 only as my winter tent. Talus 4 could also serve in winter, yet is more airy than my VE-25. Though the Talus 4 has not proven itself in gale winds and rain on the trail, I did test it in my yard with torrential buckets of water and the hose to expose any weaknesses in rain protection. Talus 4 passed the tests.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Lot of Tent for the Money I bought the Talus4 after comparing several popular 4 person tents in person. It was built to a much higher standard than anything I looked at in the $500 and under price range. Nice poles and seams were very well sewn. I wanted light as possible but since this is mainly a kayak camping tent I did not need ultra light weight. You can split up the poles, fly and tent between 3 people if you want to use it for backpacking - I did this once and it worked well. Setup is very simple, I can put up the tent and fly in under 5 minutes by myself, probably 3 minutes with a helper. You can setup the fly over the poles without the tent if it`s raining. I've also set it up on a large rock and that worked fine. Ventilation is the best I've seen in a tent, no condensation even in the rain. Zero leaks and no problems with seams or hardware after 2 years of use - probably 5 rainy nights and 15 dry nights. Easily accommodates 3 6' adults and their gear. I would not try squeezing in 4 large adults. The interior pockets and gear loft are very useful. The included footprint is an awesome bonus.
