The North Face Stormbreak 2 Tent is a two person tent for the local campground or hoofing it in the backcountry. The tent body clips to the poles via clips, making setup and teardown fast. The color-coding on the tent body and rain fly make rainy day pitches a snap so you can create a dry space to hunker down in. The dual doors and vestibules make sharing easier, so you and your buddy can come and go as you please, without having to crawl over each other or gear. Plenty of headroom makes dressing in the morning a little easier before taking off on the next trail.

FEATURES of The North Face Stormbreak 2 Tent

  • Fully seam-taped canopy and floor
  • Easy-pitch design
  • High-low ventilation

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super light and very easy setup. I bought this about a month ago and looked at many other tents. This tent is a great value.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Went cheap on stakes Decent tent, but only had eight cheap, easily bendable stakes for fourteen tiedown points. Guess they wanted to save 50 cents each.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy set up! Small volume and light to carry. I paid a great sale price for an excellent product. Amazing deal!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recomended Really nice tent. Used on the winds, snow and rains of Patagonia... it worked out perfectly! Also very spacious to keep the packs inside of the tent to protect them from the weather conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great size for one or two people Perfect for my solo trips or with a friend. The flexibility to open both doors and vestibules and allow for cross ventilation when warm, or zip everything down and store all of your gear under protected vestibules during storms makes this perfect for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this tent I have had the Stormbreak 2 tent for about two years now. I love it. I have camped everything from Colorado (snow, rain), to Wyoming (snow, rain, windy as heck), to Moab, Utah (hot as heck and dry) in some serious weather. In Moab it would have been better to throw up a tarp above it during the day to keep from being cooked. I even lived in this tent for three months in the Wyoming winter. I would use a small in-tent heater, and wake up with inches of snow on my rain fly, and be just fine with only my shorts on inside the tent. Does a great job of ventilation, it never gets moist or stuffy inside during inclement weather. The things I did not like, is that the stakes included are cheesy, and number not enough. You need to buy good solid stakes, and 12 of them. The other thing is it would be nice to get the gear loft and footprint WITH the tent rather than having to shell out another 75 bucks which brings the tent's complete price to roughly 235 dollars. I have noticed that many of the cheaper coming-up tent brands include both footprint and loft at a cheaper price and are made of comparable materials, however I honestly feel more comfortable dishing out more cash for the North Face tried and true brand. Its pretty common for higher end brands to make you buy extras separate, so I guess its no big deal. Another reviewer on Moosejaw had made mention that it doesn't have interior pockets, however it does- two of them- so not really sure what that was about. Anyway, in my opinion this tent is an absolutely great buy at the price point, it does a much better job than the price tag would imply.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tent, Great Value I bought this tent last month for a backpacking trip in Joshua Tree National Park in December. I know the climate is variable at that time of year but mostly windy and cold. This tent was extremely easy to set up. I didn't practice at home and it really took me less that 10 minutes. The dual fly is convenient and it was very roomy. My 3 and 7 year old nieces were bunking with me and there was still plenty of room! To top the night off, it started to rain in the middle of the night. It rained pretty hard and the tent was nice and dry. The only con I have are the steaks. Not the best quality. I would recommend this tent 100%!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Product Took this with me on a ten-day trek at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, as well as several 3-5 day trips, and it worked great. I don't mind carrying a little extra weight for added space and comfort, and at the price level it is an outstanding tent.

Does this tent require a "footprint" to keep you dry?

Asked by: ollie16
Thanks for the question! Altho not required, it is highly recommended to use a footprint. Not only will it keep the bottom of the tent dry, it helps protect the floor of the tent from abrasion. It really comes down to personal preference and where you will be using the tent. If you don't want to spend the extra money on the footprint, you could always just use a tarp or even an old tablecloth. I included a link to the matching footprint below. I hope this helps a little! https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_The-North-Face-Stormbreak-2-Footprint_10236478_10208_10000001_-1_
