Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Rain/Wind Jacket I bought this jacket for my husband as his first North Face (I've been having an affair with North Face jackets for years) and he absolutely loves it. We live in Michigan and with the unpredictability of the weather this jacket has really suited his needs. It is waterproof and is incredibly effective against wind. He also really likes the dark gray contrast on the shoulders because it gives the jacket more style. One negative is that it is slightly boxy in the body. Great buy, we will be back again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great backup jacket Awesome jacket, with developed features. Very comfortable and easy to move in. I am 6' and 165 lbs, and got a Small. TNF jackets tend to run a bit large for my liking, since I like my clothing more form-fitting. I was still able to comfortably wear a base and mid layer underneath this, without feeling bulky or restricted. I haven't yet been caught in a big storm, but the jacket has done well in the light rain that I have experienced. The hood is very adjustable, making it easy to turn your head and not have the sides of the hood stay still and impede your vision. I recently took this on a hike up Mt. Timpanogos (11,752 ft) in Utah, where I experienced some light rain and pretty chilly temperatures. I didn't need it going up, so I stashed it in my pack, which is easy since it folds into it's own pocket. Once I hit the summit, however, the wind was blasting me and I needed it for extra coverage. It easily did the trick, and I wore it most of the way down. Blocks wind like a boss, and teams up well with a good mid layer. I paired this with TNF Momentum jacket on that hike, and it's been my favorite hiking outfit since.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great company, stands by its products. Customer for life. First off, Northface has one of the top, affordable, all purpose light rain gear. I have always relied on my venture jacket from light rainy days. To my surprise when the jacket started to "lose" some of its waterproof-ness. Northface resolved the situation by replaying with a new one. One of the sales reps recommended the new hybrid venture with has more elastic material on the shoulder region for greater fit, range and of motion and functionality. They made a great jacket even better. Thanks for always standing by your products and always producing new innovative functional outerwear. You have made me a customer for life with your customer service, amazing products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Rain Jacket EVER! I bought the women's version of this jacket for myself in early spring. I sat through high school baseball games in the rain and everything covered by this jacket was completely dry! My man loved it so much I had to order this one for him and he loves it just as much as I do. It is comfortable, the fit is great and it's the perfect lightweight material that a rain jacket should be. Kudos to North Face for making a stylish, comfortable waterproof jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dope Amazing jacket, really does to job. I'm a full time lifeguard so I get caught in pouring rain a little more than the average person but the jacket has made my job bearable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice and dry I use this for backpacking, hiking and paddling in the rain. I do work up a mild sweat at times. The new fabric is improved from the older Venture models. The new fabric is more stretchable for paddling. There are armpit vents but this still doesn't lead to much air circulation

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great outerwear! This is a great outerwear jacket, it is good for protecting you from rain and wind, but that is about it. For cold weather you are definitely going to have to layer up. Good thing is, the jacket provides a bit of extra room so you don't feel too tight when you do this. The jacket has EXCELLENT water repellent and proofing. I personally bought sage gray version and it is actually very stylish.

What are the cleaning instructions for this garment?

Hiya, thanks for your question! The manufacturer recommends to machine wash cold with mild powder detergent, rinse thoroughly, line dry and do not put in the dryer. Easy peazy! Hope this helps!

Is this jacket good for cold winter rains?

Asked by: Jackie
Hey Jackie! Thanks for asking. This jacket is designed for use in rain, and would work great in winter as long as you're wearing warm layers under it. The jacket does not provide any insulation, but is a great layer to wear over anything from a lightweight tee to a big down jacket depending on your situation.

Is this jacket a lightweight windbreaker/rain jacket? Or does it have some sort of insulation?

Asked by: Lukey001
Hey there, TNF Venture Hybrid Jacket averages 12.13 oz and is considered The North Face's best-selling rain jacket! It stuffs into its own hand pocket when not in use and has pit-zips to aid in ventilation!
