The North Face DryVent

The North Face DryVent
Dryvent™ fabrics are engineered to be fully waterproof, windproof and breathable. The outer face of the textile is treated with a durable water repellant finish that helps form droplets and repel water from the surface. Each multi layered textile is engineered to allow water vapor to pass through from the inside to the outside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most amazing jacket I've so far I've like to do a lot of hikes and once a year I travel to climb some big mountain like Kilimanjaro or Everest Base Camp. This jacket is perfect for that and you don't need anything else as your out layer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This jacket is one awesome jacket to have! Here in Hawaii on big island, temperature drops about four degrees every thousand feet you go up, and with Mauna Kea being almost 14,000 ft. It can and does get quite cold up on top, especially in the winter months. To this day, it's still the coldest place I have ever been, (with wind chill factor, it went down to a burning -54* F, as hurricane Iniki passed south of us, building observatories on the Mtn). A jacket like this will be a great asset to have to keep the elements out. Even when we hike out to the lava flow, conditions are changing all the time, and rain, fog and wind can come at you without much notice sometimes. I'm ready for anything now!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Probably great, but sent it back. Probably performs great, but I had to send it back. For starters, the thermoball jacket feels like a cheap knock-off of a thermoball. If you own a full-zip thermoball, then you'll immediately know. The regular full-zip thermoball are super soft, and have a cinch cord. This thermoball is made of a rougher material, and uses a different material as a liner. No cinch cord; no logo on back. The sleeves are so long that you have to fold them over, or else they will stick out from the shell. The shell also has its issues. Usually you don't see mesh lining on something this expensive. And at this price, why not zipper pockets, instead of drop in pockets on the inside of the shell? There were other issues too, but I think I got my point across. I really wanted to like this jacket, but if I paid up a little more, then I could just buy separates that I will like a whole lot more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is amazing! The jacket fits great and it provides space for movement. Wish it came in a red chocolate red color though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an awesome coat. It is well made and so versatile. My son bought this primarily to wear skiing, but took it to England and loved that he could wear the inner lining alone as a jacket or wear the outer shell as a rain/wind breaker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice jacket Nice ski jacket. You need to wear the inner thermoball layer separately in order to use the snow skirt ... otherwise you'll feel the draft creeping up the jacket on cold, windy days. Thermoball layer could benefit from a chest pocket to keep your phone warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like it and love it I love this jacket, the only thing that I don't like is the sleeve length. I would prefer it to be a tad bit shorter, but regardless, I still love it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, versatile jacket Seems strange that the inner jacket has to be worn inside out but I guess that's so you can use the pocket. One would think they could design it differently. Otherwise the jacket seems pretty good.
