Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would definitely buy this product again I live in Washington and used this pack for backpacking/hiking. It's the perfect size for a a cupple of nights of backpacking or to just hike up a mountain and have a little picnic with friends. I love all the features of this pack. It fits everything you need has lots of pocket space and it's really easy to get to that you need with the bottom-open option. It has lots of space without it looking bulky. Wich is important because along with proformance I value style as well. If you know Washington it rains. A lot. Especially during the spring. but I don't like having to cancel my trips up the mountain just because of a little rain. I have one of those Northface rain covers for my pack wich worked great in heavy rain but the pack its self, without a cover, can actually stand light rain. This is a very comfy pack as well. You can bearly feel the weight on your back and the pads are very nice. Cons: the only negative thing I could think of is that, in this style, it only goes down to a size small. I'm a 120lb female about 5'3. The kids packs or the woman's packs didn't have the style I was looking for but this one still worked great I just have to adjust a lot of the straps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bag Great bag with a versatile design. Loading the bag is a breeze with the bottom zipper unobstructed by any straps. The mesh pockets are wide enough for a large Hydroflask and the velcro straps on the sides create a sturdy support system for trekking poles or even a tripod. The support system is pretty comfortable and allows you to personalize the sizing fairly easily. The one thing I would ask Northface to add to the next model would be adjustable straps underneath the bag to increase overall storage space for somewhat longer trips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome backpack! So many compartments! I bought this particular backpack for a friend of mine and he took it on a plane as carry-on luggage and is using it to backpack around Switzerland. He has 0 complaints. I also own one from the women's line. It is comfortable, roomy and great for organizing your gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent pack, cant wait to take it out again. All around this pack is great. One of the most comfortable to wear on a long day of hiking and very manageable when taking it into less than friendly parts of the trail. Load stays very balanced the whole time. I thought not having a ton of pockets was going to be an issue, but after getting out there on a four day hike I found that it had just the right amount for what I was doing. Cant say enough good things about this.

Is the sleeping bag compartment separate from the main compartment? Are there lash points (hopefully 4) below the sleeping bag compartment? Thanks.

Asked by: Scott
Hey Scott! Yes on all counts! The sleeping bag compartment is separate from the main compartment, and there are four last points below the sleeping bag compartment.

- + Size Guide

The North Face Men's Packs

SIZE One Size Small / Medium Large / X-Large
Torso Size (Adjustable) N/A" 15 - 20" 17 - 22"
Torso Size (Fixed) 17 - 20" 16 - 19" 18 - 21"
Hipbelt Size 28 - 40" 28 - 34" 35 - 42"

HOW to MEASURE TORSO SIZE
1. Put your chin to your chest and feel for the big bone protruding on your neck at the top of your spine. That's the C7 vertebra.

2. Feel your hip bone, the top part of this is your iliac crest. Find the spot on your back that is level with the top of this crest.

3. Have someone measure the distance between these two points, following the contours of your spine.

HOW to MEASURE HIPBELT SIZE
1. Measure around your body where the hipbelt will rest while you hike. This should be just above your iliac crest.

NOTES
The size info above is for The North Face technical and backpacking packs. Day packs and work / school packs are offered in One Size, and feature adjustable straps to fit an array of sizes.
