The North Face Men's Stretch Thermoball Jacket is a packable jacket for midweight warmth on the trails. Move any way you wish and this jacket will follow with ease due to the nylon/elastane stretch taffeta fabric it has been built from. The ThermoBall™ insulation powered by PrimaLoft® adds heat and won't give up, even if it gets wet. Don't worry, a durable water repellent finish coats the exterior, helping to prevent light moisture from soaking in. You never know what may happen, so stow it in its own hand pocket and always have it handy in your pack.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have never known such happiness I have spent the past 10 years of my life cold and unhappy. My daily existence has been filled with darkness and despair. Hard. A struggle. My hands? Always icy. The tip of my nose? Like an icicle. This jacket has changed all that. I now stride through life with renewed vigor! No longer am I like a hibernating garter snake, slowed by the icy winter. I now have the potency, the swiftness, the energy of... a Rhesus monkey! This jacket is the best thing to have happened to me in my life. Perhaps, but only perhaps, matched by my marriage and the births of my two children. It's close. I'm not sure which I am more thankful for. Never have I had a jacket that I have loved more than this one. It is stretchy! The cuffs are tight, so as to ensure that the precious heat your body has generated does not escape through the arm holes! The zipper is amazing and convenient. Now that I think about it, the jacket is better than my second child, but I think I prefer my first child to this coat. There you have it. Buy it. Love it. It is life changing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight, Warm, Slightly Large I'm 5'7" with a fairly slim / athletic build at 135 lbs. I opted for this version of the jacket because I was under the impression that the fit would be slimmer. At a size S, the length is relatively decent, but the jacket is quite roomy. That might be fine if I were to wear an additional layer beneath it, but I have no intentions of doing so (I'd rather wear it under something else). Other North Face jackets I have, such as the Mack Mays hoodie are a better fit (albeit long in the arms). The jacket is significantly lighter in comparison to other heavier fleece garments I have, and is as warm -which is a huge bonus. It is surpisingly breathable as well, but I may still be in the honeymoon phase. Overall, I'm pleased with the jacket and it will see frequent use this fall / winter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective Saw this item in store and was very excited at the prospect of a stretchier thermoball. I have several items that are insulated with thermoball and love the technology but a stretchy one would be a great addition considering I'm a climber. To my disappointment all colors and all sizes of the stretch thermoball in store were defective. The thread pops when you stretch in it and that just shouldn't happen. If you're looking for the women's one, they were fine, but the men's were all defective. I hope The North Face resolves this error because I still want this style but won't buy until they fix it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY UNTIL THEY FIX CONSTRUCTION I am very disappointed that I have to leave this review again. Apparently TNF got rid of all the reviews for the Thermoball Stretch from earlier this year. First of all don't buy this particular model of the Thermoball. The construction is terrible. All of the threads will start snapping if you actually stretch in the jacket. I own a Thermoball vest, Thermoball hoodie, Thermoball pullover, and a Thermoball is a fantastic technology but the stretch version is terrible. That being said, I really want this product once they fix it, so please fix it! Stretchiness would be a great addition for those chilly nights when I want to get a few more climbs in with my headlamp!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket Really like how this jacket fits. I'm 6'0" 170 lbs, have been looking at the stretch vs the normal thermoball for a while cause I liked how it appeared to be more slim fit than the original. Glad I decided to get this one, fits good still a little room in it, so if you do layer you have space. Warmth wise I've been wearing it from upper 30s to mid 60s and does a great job of keeping you comfortable and not overly warm. Ordered the Ivy Green and its closer to a grey green irl with a matte finish, which I really like. If your looking for that mid range or lighter jacket with a more slim fit. I definitely recommend this one

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it. I'm 6'2, 210, 43" chest, 35 sleeve, 34 waist and the Large fits perfectly. Perfect weight to wear over something light and still provide a lot of warmth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brian's review! First off, wanted to thank Brian for his awesome review. If you haven't read it, it's worth the time. Secondly...this jacket is as great a second he says. I use mine for traveling. Fits easily packed into my carry on and is not so bulky that it bothers those sitting next to me.
