Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Fit! I purchased the Paramount 3.0 convertible to replace a baggy pair of hiking pants - the kind that billow like a sail each as the wind blows. I was looking for pants with a more modern cut - the Paramount 3.0 fit the bill, with a tapered bordering on slim fit cut but not at all tight. I found the fit to be true to size. The zipper to convert the pant to shorts was non restrictive and I found converting into shorts easy-peasy. Additionally, the fabric felt durable yet breathable and the built in belt made adjusting the garment a cinch ;). I docked a star for noisy fabric and hardware, there was some swoosh-swoosh, clang-clang coming from these babies, it's not a deal breaker for me but could be improved. Another draw back were the pockets, they're mesh which feel flimsy - I appreciate that mesh may cut down on weight and increase air flow but I would like to see a more substantial material used for the pocket lining. Though the Paramount 3.0 convertible could use a few very minor tweaks, overall they're a great pair of paints.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for everyone I've been buying the original paramount trail pants for construction work for for the last 5-6 years. love the fit and durability. 5 pairs usually lasts me 12-18 months of hard use. I've been having a hard time finding the regular fit in large long, I'm 6'4'' 240. I desided to go to the north face store near me to try the 3.0 paramount and was disappointed how small they are. A 36 long felt good in the waste but were too short and once they shrink a little like all of them do, some colors more than others, I'd be wearing floods. Wish they would offer a extra long in the slim fit or continue making the regular fit. Hope I don't have to find a different brand...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Devastated My husband literally only wares Parmount Peak original and II pants...had we known they were going away we would have hoarded them! ..he is a landscaper and avid outdoorsman and the peak II's held up to it all...these pants were one of a kind perfection...light weight and extremely durable with a masculine fit...very upsetting to find that the fabric has been replaced in the 3.0 by a thinner material and the fit is more feminine...like every other nylon pair of convertible pants on the market..please bring back the Paramount Peak II fit and fabric!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well designed trai pants These are very confortable, and versatile pants for sprint and autum outdoor activities. They look great and are suited for every day use. Compared to previos models, materials and design are notoriusly improved. I particularly like that these pants are not baggy, and still aloowed freedom of movement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 3.0 < 2.0, but is less is more? Upshot: Love updated look and simplicity of 3.0 tho it may not last as long as 2.0 version. The 32" short fit well for me (5'8"; 163lbs; 29" inseam) but sizes are reportedly odd for some body types. Compared to my 2.0 version, it's more modern, stretchy and feels lighter weight. 3.0 fit won't flap in wind like my baggy 2.0. 3.0 fleece material around the waistband is soft tho may be a sweat magnet and dry slowly. Surely it will frey and wear out faster than pant fabric but may help with comfort. 3.0 has less of a zipper flap (YKK zips are not as concealable) and has fewer pockets. Only has one sealable side pocket, all others have no zip/velcro. 3.0 stitching wasn't as reinforced as my 2.0 (e.g. additional fabric tabs and stitching at common failure points like pocket seam) but maybe that, fabric and fewer features makes 3.0 feel more lightweight and minimalistic. My dune beige model has the same color logo on the left thigh so I'm no walking billboard. I am happy with these pants and hope they last. Thanks for your products!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Can't be compared to the Paramount Peak II Convertible This is a nice pair of pants, but nothing like the Paramount Peak II Convertible. The lose fit is gone and so are most of the pockets. I hope the Paramount Peak II Convertible will stay in production.
