Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The North Face returns to form! Homerun! The Paramount pant has been a staple of my wardrobe for a decade. Every couple years I buy a few pairs and I am good to go. In 2013 the Paramount was disastrously redesigned. The material was thin, the pockets made no sense, and the fit was extremely tight. This new Paramount II is a great new pant. North Face listened to the many complaints, and addressed them. The sign of a GREAT company. The Paramount II has a comfortable, athletic cut, the pockets are roomy and comfortable, and the material seems more durable. Are they as good as the old Classic? Time will tell, but from a fitment perspective they are an improvement. I am very pleased.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Paramount Cargo Pant I order 2 pair online and am disappointed the design of these has changed. I have worn Paramount Cargo pants exclusively for years now but this latest design will be returned. The side pockets have shifted to the front...which I don't like. The cargo pockets on the side of the legs are now smaller than before and I can no longer put items there that I carry in the older versions which is a huge problem for me. AND...overall the pant seems to have gone through a cost reduction to maintain the same price point. It just doesn't exude the same level of quality as the previous versions. Too bad ...because now I have to source another brand of cargo pant that meet my requirements :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I Miss the Old Version I wish I could give this item a great review. The previous version of the Paramount Peaks were my favorite go-to pants. They were sturdy, reliable, and the pockets were excellent. I still wear two pairs of them. Frankly this revision is inferior in every important aspect. The fabric and the belt (!) feels cheap and unsubstantial, the side-entry front pockets are badly engineered (try using them for your mobile phone) and the fit is even awkward. I am beyond disappointed. Does anyone know where I might score 10 pair of the previous version? Please?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Paramount Peak II Convertible pants Overall great pair of pants. right off the bat I can tell these pants will last forever and withstand the punishment I plan on giving them. Took them on a short break in hike last weekend; rain, 34 degrees and windy. My legs stayed warm and dry without a base layer. Love the color coded leg zips! Plenty of ankle zipper length to take off over boots. I'm 5'9" 195lbs with a stocky build the Large waist /Short inseam fit perfect. Only two things I would add a gusseted crotch for high stepping over logs and a utility pocket on the right thigh for cell phone or flashlight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I highly recommend these pants. I bought one pair of these pants before leaving the US for Uganda. I purchased 2 other pair of cheap knock off nylon pants from another well known clothing store. I am now in Uganda and am regretting the purchase of the cheap pants since you get what you pay for.,,The NF pants are light weight and fit comfortably. They dry quickly and have plenty of storage/pockets available. I like the velcro pocket tabs and the front zipper pocket to carry cash. My only regret with these pants is buying the khaki color as opposed to the darker colors that won't show as much dirt since all our clothes are now washed by hand!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pants for TALL men I'm 6'8" tall and 300 pounds, and always have (had) difficulties finding pants, especially a pair of hike pants. I ordered these and they are great, nice fit, comfortable and perfect material to go for hikes. I ordered the 3XL LONG and will order more in the future, as I will also order more shoes/boots etc that fit perfect (size 14). If you are a tall boy you cant go wrong although keep in mind that they are loose fit, so if you're a skinny guy you might find them too big for 3XL then just go for the 1 or 2XL LONG. Thank you North Face to manufacture clothes for the TALL man!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes, I would definitely buy these pants again. I especially like the color coded leg zippers and zip up cuffs for getting over shoes. I love to travel in theses. Some planes are hot and some are cold. You can adjust accordingly. Also great for going from cold climates to warm climates, or visa versa. I wear them when motor cycling long distances. They're light weight and convert to shorts after a long day of riding. Be careful though. They'll melt if they touch hot pipes. I use them to fish in. Often it can be cold in the morning and then get hot in the afternoon. Zip your legs on/off accordingly. Be careful near fires or hot stoves in cabins, material melts. Not sure if there can be anything done about that/

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Paramount Pants Unfortunately, i should have listened to the reviews but i thought at least one of the Paramount brands would be ok. Nada. The front pockets in both the Paramount and Paramount II are way to tight. You can barely get your hands in them. I've owned 5 pairs of the older version of the Paramount and they have been the best work pants I've ever had. Big front pockets so you can put tools in them, bottles of water, you name it, it fits in there. I'm broken hearted as i need to find a replacement. Sorry, d
