Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again Great jacket, light weight, slightly bulky in the mid section because of the down liner jacket

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this Jacket This is my second time buying this jacket. I wore out the first one (the front became a little abraded and I didn't like the way it looked). However, it remained fully functional. The Gortex and zip in/out down are great! I was worried when I heard they updated the design -- but every change was an improvement (including beefing up the durability of the area I wore out).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the same. Had an older Mountain Light jacket and it was great. This new Tri Climate jacket with the zip in was not as good quality and the sleeves fit short when extending your arm out straight. I wish they could go back to the earlier Mountain Light jackets with the chest pocket and internal pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent jacket & customer service I am in law enforcement and needed a durable jacket for long periods outdoors (sometimes in inclimate weather). It had to look conservative and not have any bright colors or markings.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Jacket! Got the mountain light jacket and it is a really nice coat. Fits true to size and is not bulky. I live in MN and it appears to be a pretty warm coat but maybe not the warmest coat I have for extremely cold days here. Although I like that as I wasn't looking for a large bulky jacket and this fits that. Like to gore Tex as well as you can use the shell for a rain jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heat out of no where! It's amazing The Gortex tri climate jacket is a great value for the money. The high tech materials truly block out moisture and wind leading to warmth in most any condition. The dual layer design provides a true 3 jacket system for the price of 1. North face continues to satisfy customer expectations with this latest edition to the tri climate line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket! This was my first North Face jacket I've purchased and I love it. It's lightweight but definitely warm enough for the cold weather. The ordering process was quick and painless. I couldn't be more pleased and would definitely recommend!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Get something else This jacket has never waterproof. Rainwater seeped right through the jacket. I don't know if it's just my jacket or it happens to everyone. The 550 down is a joke. It feels pretty light and thin; as if it were too good to be true. The reality is that this jacket doesn't keep you warm. In fact, this jacket could barely go down to -5 Celsius when there's wind.

Hey! I will go to Svalbard this month. Is this jacket enough for such arctic environment ? I will be wearing merino wool base layers, mid layers and again thick wool sweater.

Asked by: u a diner
Thanks for reaching out to us. From taking a look at the jacket and from you telling us that you plan to layer we believe that this jacket will be suitable with the layering for your trip to Svalbard. I hope this helps.

Is this a two-piece (jacket with hood + down-filled-removable-interior)?  What lowest temperature is this jacket good for?  thanks!

Asked by: kathy
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us. Yes, this indeed a two-piece jacket, and both are solid. This is a great winter jacket. However, there is no temperature rating. In fact, most jackets do not have temperature ratings. This is because there are so many variables; i.e., wind, humidity, activity level, other clothes you're wearing as well as plain old simple body type. Some people are naturally chilly (heck, ask my ex-girlfriend). So the best rule of thumb is to check the fill. The higher the fill of the jacket, the warmer it will be. Hope this helped you out!
