Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 80's Sweatpants, A streak, a plead for more colors My 80's style cotton sweatpants have gotten me thru 25 years of coaching youth sports, workouts at the gym and lounging on weekends. Baggy, tough to pedal in and a bit unpredictable when wet. Yet I am a man of superstition, so it was hard to change. So about a month ago, I walked into your store and tried on a pair of kilowatt pants. Great fit, light, comfortable, and no slowing down when wet. An absolute great pair of pants. I started coaching in them, and we have a bit of a streak going, ( I cant change), so my kids only complaint is that they only come in one color...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm addicted to these pants. I use these pants so much that I have bought 3 pair now, each in a different color. I am very active everyday and travel alot in my career. These are great because they feel very freeing and I am able to do whatever activities I need to do while not sacrificing style. I will wear these on backpacking trips as well as going to a coffee shop or grocery shopping. They are extremely durable and lightweight. The only con would be they are not for the cold. But I have TNF thermals that I'll throw under if it gets too chilly on backpacking trips. I would (and do all the time) highly recommend these pants.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice but way too skinny Nice material, great cut overall. However, the legs are way too skinny. I'm a small person and don't have tree trunks for legs, yet the legs are very restrictive and make the pants effectively useless for any major activitys. If I go a size larger, length is far too long. Apparently others have said the same thing about the pants to the salespeople in the store I visited. TNF needs to rethink the size of the legs, lots of active people have bigger legs. If they fix that, these are great pants. Otherwise, I would pass on these pants.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too short for th\ose tall Great pant, quality, quick shipping. Fit size recommend onsite as a LARGE, but fit a little tight (I'm a 37" waist), and length was high water (I'm a 35 - 36" inseam. No "LONG" available online, so I had to return and pick another pant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good pants I like the pants, bought four pair, would buy more if the price was lower. Waist button seems weak, as it pops open during regular wear. I would like to have belt loops on these pants, and a back pocket for my wallet. I like the blue kilowatt pants as well, but not the light blue / white border of the leg zipper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replaces Apex 1 Pant-No Fly! No Waist adjustment. Stretchy. I have been on the lookout to replace my Apex 1 Pant for a while after they were sent back for warranty replacement. FWIW, NorthFace has one of the best policies ever. Those pants were killer multipurpose pants but the heat welded seams all failed eventually. But I was impressed with the durability and movement qualities of the Apex Aerobic Fabric. These pants are cut slim and hug my thighs. I do not like the fly and waist of these pants. The pants do not have belt loops or any way to tighten. I purchased a 28x32. I am 5'&" 155lbs athletic/muscular body type. I have to shimmy the pants over my hips because there is no fly just straight from wasit to hips and a fake flythat closes with velcro. The waist is more like a 29. If you need to pee mid-outing/training this can be a problem. However, they are very comfortable and move well. I have used them to cycle in, and paired them with some capilene bottoms on several cold PA trail runs and they performed quite well, shedding mud, snow and rain. I picked theses over the 1st iteration of the KW pants specifically for the DWR finish. Although it looks like the first version had a waist drawstring which they should bring back. It'd be nice if they offered these in a short as my inseam is more like 30" but the drawstrings at the hems keep me from walking on the hems and are also nice to tuck into my low trail gaiters. Overall, Also, I wish the pockets zipper too since they are quite shallow. I'm pretty happy with the pants, just feel there could be some improvements. I'd like to use these for backcountry stuff but am not sure that they will provide the versatility to travel and also perform on the mountain the way my Apex 1 pant did and might only use these as a training pant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome pants. I like these pants a lot. lighter weight and honestly more comfortable than most sweat pants, but they look good enough that i don't feel like a bum going out in them. Great movement for doing some cardio before moving to some heavier work. Other people have complained that they where to tight on their legs, but i don't think they are at all. I honestly wouldn't mind another pair in a more jogger style, with tapered legs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pant - would buy again with one modification Great versatility, excellent durability, use it for the gym to hiking to everyday wear! My only suggestion is the waist's sometimes hard to keep the waist string secure. They almost need some elastic/stretch in the waist. The drawstring can sometimes be uncomfortable. But overall a great pant!!
