Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fleece insulation for everything This is now my go to insulation layer for all activities, and I normally don't even like 1/3 zips. Use it for everything from everyday wear in the Bay Area, skiing, ice climbing, rock climbing, and skiing. It breathes super well and even though it doesn't have any elastic in the fabric it never feels like it restricts movement. Not a windproof fleece but does cut out just the right amount. The hood is perfect for wearing underneath a hood but doesn't muffle sound like a lot of hoods. Not having the zipper makes it way more comfy under a harness and layering much smoother. The chest pocket is the perfect size to hold an iphone or cliff bar. The look of the fabric from the outside is really cool since the closer you get to it the more interesting/3D it gets. The inside feels so soft and I'm scared one day I'm going to throw it into the drier and ruin that. "Alpine Fit" is what I wish all TNF gear was. I'm 5'11" 145-50lbs with a positive ape index.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not up for it! Bought this fleece purely based on weight for hiking purpose as I travel light weight. Medium size weighed in at 168% of the average weight advertised. Made a complaint and was proven correct but all I got were false promises. Wore it during a 2 week hike in Schotland. I personally do like the snug fuseform fit however it's on the short side. Nothing remarkable in terms of warmth nor odour resistence. No idea about quick drying as it didn't get wet wearing a hardshell over it most of the time. Worse thing apart from how my complaint was handled is the durability, after 2 weeks it looks like it's been worn for months while it was hardly exposed to the elements. I have plenty of other North Face products that I'm happy about but this is just not up for true outdoor use. I would definetely not recommend this product nor hoping to ever rectify any issue with customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just Shy of Perfection I am 5'6" 125 lbs and bought a Small The only reason this pull-over jacket is just shy of perfection, is because of the lack of stretch along the waist. If their had been some elastic or just a little give in the waist seam, this jacket would be 10/10, instead I give it a 9.5/10. I love the subtle pattern, it really shows up in the sunlight but its not distracting or overly eye-catching. It is incredibly layerable; I just hiked Smith Rock in Oregon, I wore this over a thermal long sleeve and under a light rain coat. I felt great! In the shade (and in the wind) I was a perfect temperature (in the sun, I did take off the rain coat) and because this jacket is so light and form fitting, I didn't feel burdened or bulky. I recommend this jacket for wind resistance, water resistance (not proof), light weight layering, hiking, climbing, running (the hoodie is form-fitting so it wont flop too much, and will stay on you head if your wearing it), biking, and every day use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is packed first! I used this hoodie and the full zip version with the "Dot Matrix" Shell during four (4) days hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. Temperature ranged from low 40's to mid 70's. The average Temp was between 60 and 65 degrees. We had one day of light rain. This hoodie is tough and versatile! It was warm enough to be the mid layer under the Dot Matrix shell when temp was in 40's. It is tough enough to be the outer layer even when carrying pack. It transfer's moisture from the body even when the weather warmed up int the 60's and I was just too lazy to take it off. The garment seems to be bomb proof! I have not found the low temperature limit for it when hiking. It is just so versatile and so light! I have already recommended this item to some friends that also hike. Strongly recommend you consider making the same garment in an active ware fit -- it will significantly increase population who could benefit from using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Layer It was the perfect layer for changing conditions in Yosemite. When it was warm out or cold, I didn't have to take it off because it allowed my body temperature to fluctuate accordingly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spot-on! It's a great product, but is a bit snug. Just plan on wearing it with a basic tee, and you'll be fine. It is definitely a base layer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice Hoddies but runs really small not true to size at all! was a nice hoodie but the fit was horrible, the material its made out of gives it the fit like you are putting under armor on. looked nice and felt good, but the fit was bad, guy at TNF store told me about material so i returned it and got a different TNF top with a hood that i really like.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice I bought this for my husband and he loves it, it's true to size but not a lot of room to layer. If you wanted more than a tee underneath I would go up a size. But very nice and a successful gift:)
