Rated 3 out of 5 by from Montro Review This jacket is a good waterproof urban jacket. I have worn it in rain, snow, sleet and foul weather. The zippers are good quality and do not bind or snag. The Fuseform technology does make this jacket feel durable for such a lightweight piece. My only complaints are that the hood is far to small to truly protect one from the elements, it barely covers your forehead and is snug when wearing a toque under it. I would also like to see the back length extended by a inch or two, it feels short. For the price this piece acts as a good waterproof jacket for urban life, and low activity outdoors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this jacket! LOVE this coat. Fit, function, style all excellent. The under-arm zip-open vents are great to stay cool in wet/warm weather. My only wishes would be for.. 1) A more forward-protruding "visor-like" hood (my old North Face water resistant jacket had a hood that extended forward and kept rain off my face and kept my glasses dry. This hood fits more tightly around the face while there is a slight visor-like detail at the front of the hood it does not extend far enough forward to keep my glasses dry in the rain. 2) A hanging loop on the inner neck so I can hang the jacket up on a hook without being concerned about eventually damaging the inner lining at the neck or hood. These issues are far outweighed by the quality, style and function of the jacket though and overall I'm really pleased.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice shell, but inside white lining wears extremely fast I bought the 2015 version of this jacket in August for trip to Iceland and some wetter parts of Europe. The jacket did what it is intended to do: kept me dry. There were some big aesthetic issues though. On the first day of use, the white lining of the jacket began to fade immediately into the color of the putter shell. It looked like i had a very poorly made jacket. It was fading rapidly along the collar line, even though nothing appeared to be rubbing it. Then the exact same thing began inside the hood, and eventually down the zipper line. It looked like my jacket had been run-over by a bulldozer. Fast forward to February 2016. I walked into the downtown Seattle North Face store, and the manager greeted me and saw the horrible fading on my jacket, and offered to trade my jacket on the spot for the new 2016 model of this jacket. I happily agreed and I was on my way. I hadn't even gone the full evening before this jackets inside lining began fading and rubbing off, and this time around its even worse than last year's model. It's really a bummer because it had the potential to be a great jacket, but it seems getting something like the Dryzzle jacket for the same price is the better option. It doesn't seem to effect the waterproofing of the jacket, it just looks awful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressive Shell at a very good price This is a very impressive shell at a reasonable price. It is loose enough to accommodate both a base layer and a a very beefy mid layer. The shell is long enough to cover most mid layers to include the new Summit Series L 3 & 4. The jacket weighs next to nothing and is very compactable. I have used it on a day hike with wind to ~20 knots and it sheds the wind very nicely. The hood is designed to go over your head with winter cap on -- it is not large enough to accommodate a helmet. This may not be a good piece of kit for serious mountaineering but for everything else It will do an outstanding job!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I feel like a million dollars when wearing it! When I saw it in the window. I knew I had to have it. It looked like an elven jacket from the Lord of the Rings. I liked how lightweight it was. I am going on a trip to Europe this year and the jungles of Peru next year and I thought it would be perfect for both. I needed lightweight and it will rain in both places. I like the zippers under the arms to make it cooler if it gets too warm. It is not too warm and when it is cold I can wear a sweater under it. It is nice to have flexible layers! I am really happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect rain coat for almost everything! I'm 6'0" 182lbs with longer arms. The Medium fits me perfectly. The fit guide had me as a large by 60% and it was way off. Others wrote about the hood - I think it's OK though. This is a great hiking and casual raincoat. Even a spring skiing jacket. I got the black and I wish the northface logo was blue instead black on black. The draw strings are tricky to retract back in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the perfect rain jacket. This jacket is a replacement for one that was stolen. I like it much better than the old one.
