Rated 5 out of 5 by from This jacket is awesome! This coat is excellent quality and the fit is great!. I bought this for my son who has trouble with everything being too short (at 6'5" always a struggle). This coat has a relaxed fit and fit both his body length and arm length perfectly. The zip out jacket is a great bonus. We were a little disappointed in the warm of the jacket as according to the ratings it was suppose to work in cold weather. My son wore it out in 40 degree rainy weather, keep him dry but not that warm. The good thing is I can get him an insulated jacketed that zips in to the outer shell which is what I will do. Still a great jacket I would recommend due to its versatility.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not very warm Bought this for my husband (I bought the women's) last year. It's a nice coat, not very warm tho. The Apex jacket inside wasn't even close to being able to stand up to WI winters. You may as well be wearing a sweatshirt and a windbreaker outside. But, if you swap out the Apex for the Denali... voila! Nice and cozy! I have the down Denali and my husband has the regular Denali. The Apex is a nice fall outer layer, so its not all bad. I love all three coats as does my husband.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not very warm I have a older version of this jacket but they have only changed the style slightly. It looks great and fits fine (true to fit). The inner jacket is good for wind protection, outer shell is good for water resistance as long at you maintain it with the water proofing chemicals they suggest. What I am disappointed in is the level of warmth. If the inner jacket was linned with fleece or something more insulating versus wind resistance, this would have been a great jacket. I wish I didn't have to wear a base layer or 2 to keep myself warm in this jacket when it is very cold outside. Others have mentioned this too. Look for another triclimate jacket with a fleece inner jacket if you want to stay warm without layering up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THIS JACKET! My Dad had what I believe was the last years model. It was the green jacket. I would wear it every now and then outside or if I knew I was going to be outside in the cold. Now it's a new year. I fell in love with the blue Men's Condor Triclimate Jacket as soon as I saw it. I was going downtown Chicago, from Indianapolis, for the skyscraper walk. When I got to Chicago, I was told there was a stain on the jacket. North Face was very helpful and professional in helping me return the item, but there wasn't any blue jackets left in my size. So I got the black jacket. I went home, was bummed for two days and I returned the black jacket. About a week later, BLUE NORTH FACE JACKET at my door step! I love this jacket! I'm warm, I'm dry, and I'm ready for Winter! Great Jacket North Face! love it!

Will TNF Thermoball jacket zip into the shell?

Asked by: Bob G
Hiya Bob G, thanks for your question! Sorry, the Thermoball does not zip in. The only zip in compatible jackets are the Denali and Khumbu 2. Hope this helps!

Is this good for skiing?

Asked by: Waj E Soom
Hiya there, thanks for your question! This versatile jacket is best for casual wear or hiking but it can be worn as a skiing jacket... however, doesn't have a powder skirt and the hood might be a little too small for a helmet. If you need these features, check out The North Face Men's Clement Triclimate Jacket or The North Face Men's Initiator Thermoball Triclimate Jacket. is this jacket good for a 30 degree whether?

Asked by: mr m890
Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, The North Face does not temperature rate their garments. I would put this Triclimate in the mid-warmth category. I would probably not wear it in temps lower than the 40's. But that range will very for each person - since it depends on yourbody temperature, activity level, and metabolism. Hope this helps a little!

Is the jacket suitable for single digit temperatures? Thanks

Asked by: Indyta
Thanks for the question! I would not wear this Triclimate in single digit temperatures. The lowest I would comfortably go is the 40's. But that can vary for each person - since it is based on body temperature, activity level, and metabolism. Hope this helps a little!

Lists as having a removable hood in one description but a fixed helmet compatible hood in the specs.Which is correct? Thanks.

Asked by: Jim4270
Hiya Jim4270, thanks for your question! The hood is removable, it zips off. Sorry for the confusion!

Does the inner liner have pit zip vents too?

Asked by: LinzDFW
Thanks for the question! Unfortunately, the inner softshell does not have pit zips. Most likely because it is windproof. Only the outer shell offers pit zip venting. Hope this helps!

Asked by: Jimmy
Hiya Jimmy, thanks for the question! Yes, both the fleece liner jacket and waterproof outer jacket are included. You can wear them together or one without the other. Hope this helps!
