Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boot Great all-around winter boot. Bought to replace a 9 year old North Face pair of winter boots. Well made, warm and sturdy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would highly recommend these boots! This was to replace my older pair that I worn out over the years. I use them for walking dogs in Vt snow, slush, mud, as well as Snowshoeing. They are very comfortable and most important, warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs Small Just wanted to say that i usually wear a size 12 or 12.5. I ordered these boots in size 13, returned and exchanged them for size 14, which are also too small; due to all the padding and insulation inside, i suppose. Hoped that when they would break in they would become more roomy. This is year two and my toes are still smushed, especially when wearing thick socks. I like them otherwise.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware! Limited lifespan on TPR shell Got the boots as a gift 3 years ago and only worn about a dozen times since in a mild winter condition in BC. Wore it outside walking for about half an hour until one of the boots upper TPR shell / rubber forefoot cracked all around and a piece broke off .. Disintegrated! TNF warranty no help! They said due to age of boots, it's natural that rubber will a tire of a truck to be specific! So if you accept this explanation...enjoy the boots with limited lifespan! I know I won't. Very disappointed - lost faith in TNF!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great piece of equipment! These boots seem rugged and well-built. They also feel true to size. I tried on multiple larger sizes due to a majority of reviews saying they felt big. My experience was not so. Maybe it's due to the copious amount of internal insulation that makes these feel unusually snug compared to normal footwear? When testing these out, I wore thick Smartwool trekking socks with the boots. As part of my test, I buried my boots in fresh, wet snow (10 degrees) and stood there for 25 minutes. A slight cool spot developed around the 'circumference' of the boot where the upper meets the sole. There is a small transition area inside the boot where the bottom of the insulation ends and the sole begins, and this little spot is not as well insulated as the rest of the boot. To be fair, I didn't really notice it when using the boots in a more true-to-life fashion - I mean, how often do you bury your feet in slushy snow for 25 minutes while just standing there? Anyway, when walking through deeper snow, the rigidity of the sole makes the boot feel slightly like your heel sinks in first, and for me, it made my heel slip up and down a bit inside the boot due to the lack of give. Traction is great though, and the tread seems to bite pretty well. Overall, however, these comments are very nit-picky, and the boots performed great. I have to be extremely critical of all the gear and equipment I buy, as my life usually depends upon their performance. I would recommend the Lux version due to the upgraded lacing hardware.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Would not buy again Top of boot where sole is glued on doesn't stick causing snow to sit in there, making your toes cold

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Boot -- Warm and Dry Fantastic boots. They do run a bit small, so order a half to a whole size bigger.
