DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Spring/Fall Jacket This Jacket is wonderful on a windy day. It's defiantly windproof! It's also waterproof for light rain. It's good for temperatures around 60° to 40° fahrenheit and any wind chill to 35°. I only wish it was a little warmer cause on days when its below 50 degrees you start to feel the cold if your just wearing a t-shirt. It's warmer if your wearing a long-sleeved thermal. One thing I didn't like was the drawcord in the hand pockets. It feels weird when you put your hands in them and sometimes you feel wind/air come through the holes where the draw cord is located. But over all it's a very nice looking jacket at it's price and great for causal wear or hiking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Fall/ post winter jacket! Very stylish jacket. It is great for temperatures from 40-60 degrees. I am 5'11" and 180lbs with somewhat of an athletic build (big chest & broad shoulders). I have a Large size, which is a little long on the sleeves and loose overall, but that is how I like it; so I can wear a couple layers underneath for colder temps. Quality is excellent and I would definitely recommend it for a casual fall look or something to wear for a cold morning run due to how breathable it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you want a thin LIGHT jacket this is for you. If you need a lightweight seasonal jacket this is for you. If you're looking for something with a little more structure and padding this is not for you. I can see how the ratings for this particular piece can vary so greatly depending on your needs and expectations. This jacket does not provide you with great warmth. There is no lining to it, if you want something warmer look at the Apex Bionic. Here is a comparison between this and a similar Arcteryx goo.gl/uN80tT you'll notice the Arceteryx outer shell is more dense, less stretch, and has a thin fleece layer on the inside. This has more stretch and is slightly lighter. Both are great jackets but this one is not a windstopper, however it works well in light weather and provides excellent movement.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pneumatic Jacket I bought this jacket to replace another spring/fall jacket that was falling apart. This jacket has a great look and is very comfortable. The light snow and rain that we have here in Michigan in late winter/early spring just falls right off the jacket. It does not provide a great deal of warmth, but does keep the wind out. I usually use this when it is 40 degrees or above.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lightweight shell for spring and fall weather I already own a similar North Face lightweight jacket that is several years old. It is a Summit Series Windstopper jacket and it has served me well especially in windy conditions. I purchased this jacket because I wanted a similar coat in color, as my older jacket is TNF black. This new jacket is well made and from a few outings with it seems to be wind resistant. My older jacket had a liner in it, and this new jacket does not. I kinda wish this jacket had a liner in it. But this jacket does have a good sized interior pocket that my older jacket does not have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My husband LOVES this jacket! My husband wanted a lighter weight jacket for chilly days and he absolutely LOVES this North Face! The material is substantial but not heavy and it has a wonderful density to it.. it really blocks the wind. Great fit... in fact, he likes it so much that I bought the women's version for myself! I'm tall... 5' 10" and the jacket is a great fit. So often sleeves are too short on me, but not with this jacket. Very true to size. I bought a large for myself so that I could layer and it's a wonderful fit. Can't say enough about it! Great, great jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I heard rotten tomatoes gave it a certified fresh rating! I would rate the jacket as a 12/10 for its uses as intended. I wore it on a windy day and didn't feel the slightest breeze through it. I even had it on while feeding my 1 year old Jell-O and although she spilled Jell-O all over the jacket not a bit leaked through on to any of my other clothing. I will likely purchase it in other colors to have as a light spring jacket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Jacket, Needs Lining I purchased this jacket online; I was impressed with the quality of materials, the ease of use with the zippers, and the overall feel of the jacket. TNF makes very nice products, and this is no exception. The colors are very true to the pictures, in case you're wondering. However, when you put the jacket on, it will stretch. The jacket shell is made out of polyester (92%) and elastane (8%). The inside is nothing more than polyester. So when you put on the jacket, it can and will stretch, which kind of stinks. It takes away from the solid feel of the jacket otherwise. The pockets are not really pockets so much as they are mesh that actually goes all the way into the jacket and if you have a breeze either from your front or behind, the cold air will get into the jacket. Not a problem if you're fine with using pockets that aren't on your jacket, but it does defeat the purpose of having the pockets in the first place. The jacket is not warm at all if you're wearing less than, say, a flannel in 50 degree weather with little breezes. This jacket is more of a layering jacket, and it doesn't do the best job of breaking wind, either. If you're wearing a lot of stuff underneath this jacket, say a t-shirt, flannel, and maybe a sweater, depending on how cold it is outside, you'll be warm enough to stay outside. But if you want to wear this jacket outside in anything under 50 degrees, you'll be cold if you wear just a t-shirt. So ultimately, this jacket just needs some lining. If they solved that problem, there would be no problems with the jacket. Unfortunately, it has no lining, and therefore has a big problem.

Is this jacket fleece or material like apex bionic

Asked by: Johno1
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us. This jacket uses a Wind Wall material which is a fleece fabric. The Apex Bionic jacket does not use this material.
