Product Description Item No.   10236458

The North Face Furnace 20/-7 Sleeping Bag is a down sleeping bag for staying warm inside your tent. The 20 degree bag is filled with 550-fill ProDown, allowing it to compress down small so it won’t take up as much space in your backpack. ProDown is just like regular down, but has a finish on it that repels water, allowing the down to work better in wet conditions. In addition, the bottom half of the bag has a layer of synthetic insulation (Heatseeker Eco), which is less susceptible to compression and provides additional thermal heat. A less tapered mummy shape allows you to toss around inside so you can get comfortable faster instead of having to count sheep.

FEATURES of The North Face faux furnace 20/-7 Sleeping Bag

  • Comfort-oriented shape has a less tapered cut
  • Anti-compression layer composed of Heatseeker Eco synthetic insulation
  • Vaulted footbox
  • Shaped hood for more warmth and comfort
  • Draft collar for comfort and to prevent heat loss

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product Great for backpacking. Light weight allows for more of the "luxuries" that are less plentiful for oortaging trips!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not Warm Enough Even In 50F I bought the Furnace Sleeping Bag 10 months ago after considering other options, since my synthetic bag at that time (Aztec) was already 8 years old. The motivation was to buy a new bag that will be warm enough for backpacking over the world (20F=-7 Celsius), light and with good compression ratio. This is why I decided to buy down for the first time. I used it a few times while camping and it wasn't warm enough even when the outer temperature wasn't too low (10-15 degrees Celsius minimum). I also used it 2 months ago, while sleeping in a hut in north Greece and I needed to use 2 blankets in addition since I was too cold. I'm not a "cold sleeper" and the temp outside the hut was 12 degrees Celsius (53.6F) during night! I bought this bag in order to upgrade the sleeping experience, but in the bottom line I'm very disappointed since it's not warm enough as expected and I can't trust it when backpacking. It also doesn't include a compression bag while other bags with this tag price do have (also from North Face). I don't know if it's a defective model that I got or not, but I expected to get better product when selecting North Face down. Now I need to buy a new bag that will be warm as the spec declares.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent source of heat for the hiker Well we actually tried the sleeping bags in the camper in the driveway it was about 25 degrees and we stayed very warm with no heat very comfortable and soft and snuggly

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Down entry Slepping bag For the price you can't go wrong. You get both a Down top and synthetic bottom which pair well. The bottom doesn't compress well which is good for sleep and comfort but not so great for packing small. The top which is down gives you that soft and thick loft without the weight, but it compresses small. I tested this in NC at 25 degree weather with just a base layer and no socks. Stayed warm all night draft collar and adjustable hood are well designed. The zipper did catch a few times but it seems to be the Achilles heel of even the high end sleeping bags. It comes with a stuff sack (Not a compression sack) but I can fit it in the dedicated sleeping bag compartment of my backpack. I tend to toss and turn so for me the confort mummy cut is ideal, plenty of room but not too much to cause heat loss. Very happy over all, extremely satisfied.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good looking bag Got this bag last week , haven't used it yet . It is light and packs well , plenty of room, love the double zipper since I like to stick my legs out to cool off. One problem that might make me send it back is that this bag DOES NOT COME WITH A STORAGE BAG. I couldn't believe it , all my bags have had stuff sack and storage bag . I guess this is how they reduce costs.
