Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super lightweight but has some condensation Additional Pros: 1. Roomy (I am 6'2") and there is plenty of foot, head, and side room. Never felt closed in. 2. Super lightweight and small. Additional Cons: 1. Very difficult to enter. The one zipper makes it light but very difficult to enter. Especially in a snow cave. An additional zipper along one side would go a long way to easing entry, not to mention taking a pee in the middle of the night. 2. There is always condensation on my sleeping back and on the inside of the bivy in the morning. From what I have learned this is pretty much unavoidable with bivy sacks. With decent weather, a space to lay your stuff out, and 15-30 minutes it all drys out

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I now see a shrink for claustrophobia This product seems to be an afterthought of the Assault series line. What do we do with the left over material from the tents? We make garbage bivys! I'm sure it's just I at 6' 2" 175lbs that has trouble squeezing my super thin pad, 0 deg Inferno bag, and myself into this sack. Its like I'm trying to squeeze into a beer bottle. Once in (1hr 20min later), I am immediately constricted with seams nearly bursting. Then, trying to stay calm and keep the claustrophobic fear to a minimum while attempting to zip up the sleeping bag and/or the bivy itself. You basically need to pick one or the other because you're not moving after either is done. The plastic brow is quite comical, being "designed" to keep the lid aloft and out of your face, hahaha. The bug screen is cool though. Getting out or escaping this bag... It would have been a challenge for Houdini.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Garbage bags would be better This bivy is not waterproof. It might be with snow but after 15minutes of rain, nothing heavy, water seeped in. After 1 hour there was a major build up of water inside. On dry nights, there is a lot of condensation also and even while breathing through the mesh all night. This product isn't worth carrying in you backpack since it does more harm than good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Night Night, Warm and Water Tight! I used the Assault Bivy sack on several winter nights varying in temperature from about 20 to -20 degrees fahrenheit. Paired with a sub-zero bag, a sleeping pad, and a bag liner, the bivy kept me warm and dry. The first night, I slept in the bivy without a tent or other shelter. On the colder nights I used the sack inside of a snow quince shelter (as depicted in photo). With every use, the bivy effectively shed snow and helped to trap more body heat than a sleeping bag alone. Some condensation did develop on the inside of the sack from my breath (as is to be expected with a bivy); however, using the mesh opening eliminated this effect entirely. I had plenty of extra room at both the head and foot of the sack for extra gear. Overall, I was very satisfied with this product. With some work, it does fit back into the small carry sack it comes in. The size and weight of the bivy make it easy to pack and carry and the warmth and water-shedding benefits of the product make it ideal to use in combination with a tent on colder nights or as a minimalist alternative to a tent.
