Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great watch in so many ways, almost perfect I have had many different Suunto watches over the last five years. Love the watches. I use it for both indoor and outdoor workouts. The GPS function is almost instantaneous lock and great overall performance. I general I get 3-5 days of battery time with daily workouts (5mile run). I travel extensively and the easy of changing timezones is very convenient. The number of potential watch faces are OK, but would love to be able to customize the faces. There are associated phone apps with notification. Have tired both the iPhone and the Android versions. Connectivity is far from perfect and in reality the function is not fantastic. Other than this phone connectivity this is a fantastic watch. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Been using this watch for almost a year. There's been something very unique about the Suunto experience. When the watch first arrived I was frustrated that by being "a too early" adopter I was caught with owning a piece of hardware whose software was a "work" in process. The functionality was far less than the Ambit 3 but the experience grew much more favorable over time and in a weird way one would look forward to feature functionality that in many cases was promised as a feature at the time of purchase. The watch has performed flawlessly in recent times and I find that the doling out of features over time forces one to spend a little time getting to know the most current iterative, as well as builds excitement for the next release. The watch is incredibly durable and remarkably comfortable. This watch has become somewhat of life adventure companion. As its become more capable, its helping me to become more .... Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Third Suunto Watch This is slowly becoming best activity watch I have ever owned. The vast choice of activities in the software should cover even the most users. Suunto is releasing updates it seems almost monthly, bring improvements and incorporating user requests. This is evidence to me that really want the user to have the best product that they can possibly deliver. They have a customer for life as long as they stick to this business model. Keep up the great work and products!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Regular updates show the company cares As updates have been flowing out I am happier with my activity companion more than ever. Very accurate gps and HR SENSOR. I can take it anywhere in the world and rely on proper data to keep pushing myself to new limits. Its a very motivating device that keeps me active when im feeling lazy. The community is great and constant feedback keeps the company on improving the device. I have the titanium bezel that never gets dinged up no matter what object my wrist my bump into. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Precise with great potential SPARTAN ULTRA ALL BLACK TITANIUM I had an Ambit 2 for the longest time and finally decided to upgrade. I use the SUUNTO products for triathlon training and competition. PROS: - Very nice looking watch. - Excellent display in the outdoors, where it is most important for me. Yes, it does not look like the screens in the Web Page but brightness needs to stay on the low side to save battery. - Touch screen is very useful on the run or bike. - Precise GPS. It is quick to connect and performs very good, even in low recording settings. - Battery is sufficient even for long competitions. - Very good IOS mobile sync and notification. CONS (May be improved with software updates) - It is not possible to add graph displays in custom sport modes; the interval displays are not very flexible. - It is not possible to have a virtual pacer (or an imaginary runner) that tells you how many seconds or minutes you are ahead or behind your goal. At least for me, this is key element in competition running. - Not many options for watch faces. Seconds cannot be continuously displayed as in a regular wrist watch, unless the active screen is activated. Sometimes, for example while stretching, you just need to see a few seconds pass by. - The watch display does not show the swim speed after the activity. Other performance measurements such as SWOLF, stroke rate, or swim pace per 100 yds are shown. For the bad swimmer, as is my case, it is desirable to get your overall average speed when you exit the pool. - Stop watch is very rudimentary, without back count and alarms. - Cannot set an alarm in watch. Bottom line: I could still go with my AMBIT 2 but the Spartan is really, really nice and has tremendous potential. I hope that SUUNTO develops software to add more customization and that we can get our virtual pacer by means of an update or the capability to add custom apps.

A suivre donc....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps getting better and better with each software update. A rare combination of substance and style Bought the Spartan Ultra in September. I have a hunch that they launched the watch before the software was 100% where they wanted it to be but it clearly has such huge potential and I expect there is even more to come. I use the watch for a variety of sports to advanced [not elite] level (mainly: run / bike / box / circuit / treadmill / weights / cricket). The sports screens are now customisable which is AWESOME! You get exactly the data you want on the screen. Movescount is excellent. (I had been a big fan of Training Manager with the T6D previously). My two minor bugs - occasionally the watch is slow connecting to the HR sensor. The golf mode could be awesome but right now is pointless. A rare triumph of substance and style. Am looking forward to the next software updates!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from how can we expect a good firmware? I have a lot of experience with suunto I have observer, ambit2 sport, ambit3 peak saphire and now I bought a spartan... What you will not find in the past compared to the clock...( firmware 1.4.6 ) on the screen you NOT will find: 1. barometer 2. temperature 3. graphics in SETUP: 1. You can not disable bluetooth 2. if the backlight mode manually, there is no button to turn it on or off 3. you can not disable the second time zone alarm clock: 1. You can not only choose the vibration i concluded that even my observer and ambit2 sport - better than spartan. I believe that the development team need to lay off !!! and to give everything in the hands of a series of commands ambit
