Rated 5 out of 5 by from This rope has a durable sheath. It hasn't fuzzed up after months of intensive use. Good value. My previous rope was a Beal. While the Beal gave soft catches due to its elasticity, the sheath became fuzzy within a few months. Before 2 years, I could see the core and I had chopped both ends three times before the rope was 3 years old. Seeking greater durability I opted for a Sterling Marathon rope because of its excellent durability. I haven't been disappointed as, apart from discoloration, the sheath is as good as new. It's also light enough to use in a double configuration for trad climbs. My next rope will be from the Sterling Marathon series too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, Sterling ropes rock. (get it, "rock") Ha I kill me Got this sterling rope after spending many moons reading reviews and blogs for climbing ropes and guess what, most climbers know what they are talking about. I built my own climbing wall with an overhang and this rope performs like a dream. The 10.1 is not to thick but still feels very safe. Clips bolts like butta and goes through my belay like silk. If your looking for a great rope with out selling your first born child this is the one for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, reliable rope! This is my first rope, and I've had it for a couple of months now. I did a lot of research when deciding on a rope, and I'm glad that I went with this one. I wanted something that would be reliable, all purpose, and last a while, and I think this rope will. I have used it both indoors and outdoors, and went with the dry treated option as I hope to use it to try out ice climbing this winter. I was worried that with the slightly larger diameter it would be heavy to carry up to the crag, but its not bad. Also, I love the blue color that I went with!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this rope I use this as my go-to top rope for myself and small groups of friends on rock and ice. I've even used it for short trad and moderate sport routes. The dry treatment makes the rope run really smoothly and it's only now starting to pick up some grime after a few seasons of moderate use. Really not much wear and tear showing. It hasn't fuzzed out or gotten any soft spots. I'll be using it again this summer for sure. Super reliable and durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good multi-use The sterling marathon pro is a classic. Good choice for cragging; trad or sport. It's durable but handles well. I wouldn't get this rope for alpine as it's not the lightest but if you climb pine you probably don't need me to tell you what to get. Also maybe not the best choice for extensive top dogging, due to it's nice springiness and sub 10.5 diameter. However, for general cragging apps, this one is one of the better ropes out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Rope! Super great rope. I have already gotten about 10 routes in on it and it shows no signs of fraying! Super supple but easy to clip. I got it in 70 m for longer routes that will be hard on a rope. VERY HAPPY! The color also looks neat cause its orange and who doesn't like that! Only thing........ really wish I got bi color. It makes is so much easier when you are flaking the rope to throw for rapping. ,,

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Workhorse This rope is designed to be a workhorse rope to work projects and take fall after fall. That being said, Sterling still keeps the workability and smooth feed and knotability of this rope while keeping it super durable. While not quite as durable as BW ropes (in my opinion), it still makes a great go-to rope and is a little sleeker and more supple than BW.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable. Flows through hands and device nicely! A couple of my friends own this rope and I've really liked, I decided to buy my own! It's a great rope if you need something durable and the sheath doesn't fuzz up. However, it is 10.1mm, so if you're looking for something lighter weight, I'd look elsewhere. The marathon flows nicely through a GriGri and feels great when handling!
