Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works like a charm I purchased this to replace a percolator which I had used for years. This thing works as advertised and makes a great thermos of coffee. Everything is compact, fits nicely together and seems durable. One caveat-do not use the pot on an open fire as it does contain some plastic parts-camp stove only-I used on a solo stove and worked fine, although a full pot is a fair bit of water. Note this is large, so it will take up some space-if size important they make a smaller version. I also dinged ease of use by one star because of the cleanup required on the screen-this goes for all presses-so not a knock on the Stanley.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good as a Thermos otherwise Major Design Flaw I was so excited about purchasing this product. I thought what an amazing design to have a thermos, a French press, cups, coffee ground compartment, and heating pit all in one! The reality of using it is a whole other ballgame. The cups and thermos work great. However the design flaw is in the pot handle. The little plastic piece in the underside WILL melt. Mine melted my first time out and I only used a tiny pocket stove to heat it up. When it melts, the handle will not lock and it makes handling and pouring a near impossible feat. My big question to a company that's been known for quality.... why is this piece not metal. I now consider my purchase to be in vein and I can't recommend this product. If you can make that piece on the handle in metal this product would be a home run. Too bad.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Near perfect, with one qualification... I love absolutely love mine. Terrific birthday present from my girlfriend. It works incredibly well, it's very stylish and eye-catching, draws tons of compliments, easy to clean, and so on. Only serious design flaw is the lack of a handle or clip. It's too large for almost all holders/straps, which makes it impossible to attach to the exterior of messenger bag, backpack, etc., and it's too large and awkward to carry by hand for any significant distance. This requires the sacrifice of lots of backpack space. Really wish that Stanley offered a solution for this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not prefect but......... Enjoying good coffee while bike/backpacking is problematic. Instant coffee isn't great but so much better than nothing at all. It's light, east to make, fast and easy to clean up after making. But, if you are willing to carry additional weight, real coffee is So much better than instant. Remember that the most important thing with good tasting coffee is high-quality coffee, and a lot of it. 1 lb. of coffee doesn't go far and then there is the added weight of whatever cooking system you chose. All that weight seems heavier on the road. I didn't want to deal with disposables of any kind. I wanted easy clean-up and a good brew. I try with every item I carry to be able to use it for multiple purposes. This lead me to the new Stanley Coffee Press and Thermos - http://www.coolthings.com/stanley-coffee-system/. It's is a high-quality vacuum thermos for hot or cold liquids, a sizeable aluminum coffee press pot with a handle that can be used to cook ramen just as easily, a rebuildable coffee press, two cups and enough water tight storage space to make two pots of coffee. It's not perfect, but it is multifunctional and seems well made. It's not light, not at all, but I have never seen a good stainless thermos that was. I would have preferred that the pot have threads to connect it to the thermos. The design they chose allows a small rattle. You won't notice is at all though because the rattle coming from the handle on the pot is much worse. Multifunctional, high quality and makes a great cup of coffee. Everything else is just being nit-picky. A perfect fit for my large bike bottle carrier too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coffee system when you are a coffee lover. My husband and I bought this just before the summer and used it during our camping/cycling holidays. It is a great system because everything is in one package. Two mugs, a thermos, a kettle and the french press. For our cycling holidays we used to drink instant coffee to avoid too much lugage on our bicycles. But now we take the coffee system with us and can enjoy a good cup of coffee in the morning and the evening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile and fun to use I received this system as a gift about a year ago and immediately put it to use. Working outdoors in the remote wilderness, some days all I have to look forward to is a cup of hot coffee. This press system allows me to do just that. All parts work just as advertised and the bottle keeps liquids hot for hours. Additionally I've found that the boiling pot and strainer is useful for cooking/heating soups etc. as well... I absolutely love this product and I get lots of compliments and comments from friends and crew when I use it. If I have any suggestions to Stanley at all, I would like to see the folding handle beefed up a little. Although I've had no trouble with it, it seems a little weak and flexes when pouring a full pot of boiling water. I've been careful in using and it works fine however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for camping in freezing weather Received as a gift. My first time using it was camping in sub 30 degree fahrenheit weather. After brewing the coffee, the vacuum sealed canister kept my coffee hot for hours. It allowed me to enjoy my coffee since it actually stayed hot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cowboy Coffee Done Right Perfect camp coffee system. I spend a lot of nights during the summer under the stars and i've owned quite a few coffee systems/ways to brew coffee in the woods. This is by far my favorite and best. Great buy for the price and makes a great cup of coffee.
