Rated 4 out of 5 by from I feel like I could climb Mt. Everest. I love Sorels, and had a pair for the past 2 years that was way more fashion than function. So I got these for this winter and I am loving them. I am an 8/8.5, but got them in a 9. I recommend sizing up to fit plenty of warm socks for winter. Are they heavy? A little. Shoe weight has never really bothered me though. I feel protected, and they have a ton of traction. The issue about this tread is that it holds onto the snow, so after you come inside from a romp in the snow, you bring a lot of the snow back inside with you! I have cold tootsies, and hoped that these thicker soled boots would help prevent heat loss. While they do feel warmer, I have discovered that my toes just suck. Haha. Nothing can keep them warm. Because these are one of the best boots for warmth, if they can't keep my tootsies from going numb? Nothing can. I got them in black, love how they go with everything. I think they are still super attractive even though they are more clunky than some other models. I also love how far it comes up on my leg (but these are not the tallest sorel model, but is higher than most) which helps my ankles and lower legs feel super secure and protected. I can't wait for the rest of this winter to get outside and test them more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable and stylish. These boots keep your feet warm and dry

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SO happy with this purchase!! I'm in love with these boots! They conveniently arrived on the day of our first big snow, so I got to put them to the test right away -- and boy, do they hold up! Super warm when I'm trekking through the snow, and the traction has been stellar when I'm walking to campus. The other reviews speak the truth: THESE BOOTS RUN BIG. I, a girl who has been wearing size 8 shoes since the 5th grade, ordered a 7.5 with some trepidation, but I'm so glad I did, because they fit perfectly. Some of the other reviewers have pointed out the "heaviness" or "clunkiness" of the boots, but I don't know -- they definitely aren't as light as, say, a pair of Uggs, but they aren't uncomfortably heavy at all. (And I'm a lil' pixie with weak legs and narrow feet.) The weight is evenly distributed throughout the boots, so they're definitely a step up from my old cheap boots, which were very bottom-heavy and uncomfortable to walk in. That being said, these Sorel boots are serious footwear for areas with serious snowfall and/ or seriously low temperatures. Like, if you live somewhere that only gets a couple inches of snow each winter, these boots would be overkill. But if your town is getting dumped on (or if the temperature is dropping really, really low), I'd recommend these. I ordered the gray ones and have been getting a ton of compliments on their cuteness. Also, I've mostly been using these boots for walking my mile-long commute to campus, and they've been a lifesaver!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good support/warmth in Colorado weather one of the best boots Ive worn in CO weather and looks great with work clothes/fashion

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very sturdy but very bulky I returned these only because they weee very wide/very bulky. They felt like men's boots. Had I needed them from for heavy manual labor they's have been fine but if you want them to be cute keep looking. I exchanged them for a slimmer style and am very happy with what I got.

is the boot good for a wide foot?

Asked by: sharon
Hiya Sharon, thanks for your question! Yes, this boot would be a good choice for a wide foot. It has a wide toe box and it runs large in general. A lot of people size down a half to full size. Hope this helps!
