DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wind Tight I can't wait to wear these Nordic skiing! I'll combine them with the Propulsion vest and Corbett skirt. The fit is perfect, and they seem exactly the right weight for warmth without being overly warm. I skate ski, so warm, breathable layers are very important! I will also likely wear these for some Winter running, as I am training for a 100 miler in February and will have some rather long runs in the coldest part of our Winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tights! These tights are my go-to piece of clothing for XC skiing in the White Mountains. In the past, I've tried regular (i.e. without the front wind panels) running tights and softshell pants, both of which have worked well. These tights outperformed those 2 pieces of clothing, but combining the wind/light precipitation protection of softshell pants with the lightweight/breathability of running tights. I haven't tried these for running yet (pesky IT band injury), but I can imagine they would perform just as well as for XC skiing (similar activities and effort levels, at least the way I ski). I still prefer a good pair of softshell pants for winter hiking, as they're more durable. Bottom line, these tights are awesome for highly aerobic winter activities. They fit well (I'm 5'0", 112 lbs and bought a size Small), are comfortable, durable, and can go withstand several outings before I need to wash them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are the best biking, active wear tights. This product is well made with quality wool fabric that is warm and durable. The design of these tights is excellent. The side zippers at bottom of leg and draw string at the mid rise waiste makes for a perfect fit. Added features of reflective seams, nylon wind panels and zip pockets make for practical use. These are the best active cold weather wear I have found in my 40 years of all season biking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soft and still wind proof!! All time favorite pair of leggings. I wear them with boots and a cute top, I ride my bike, I run. I have a 33" inseam, am 5'9" and 135#. The waistband is far softer than any other wind proof tight I have, and the wool material washes up beautifully so I don't get the saggy bottom sometimes associated with multiple washes of a soft shell-like material. The stitching is super flattering. I would wear these every day if I could!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nearly in love These tights are super comfortable and very warm. I recently wore them on a run on a 20 degree day and they kept me warm, especially with a headwind on the return part of my run. The only thing I am not crazy about is the "piping/stitching" which just kind of looked too tight on my legs, though they didn't actually feel tight/compressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as marketed Keeps me warm and comfortable on cold runs

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm, but thin These tights are warm, yet really thin. They are warm enough for a hike in 33 degree weather. They are very form fitting, so a skirt works well over the top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for cold weather hiking I wore these pants for a 15 mile hike in 30 degree weather with a 10 mph wind. When I tried them on in the store the crotch area did seem a little baggy, but I washed them in cold water and dried them on low and I didn't notice this extra fabric so much after that. Outside my legs were very warm while moving although I did notice once in a while that there was no wind proofing on the back side. On the trail in a forest this may not be so noticeable. I could see how this could be an issue if you were running in the open and the wind was at your back. I later put on a longer layer that covered my back side so this was not an issue. I liked that the material was figure flattering and hid any cellulite dimples. Overall I would wear these pants again for a hike and bring a longer layer of it is very cold. They did a good job of keeping me warm and were comfortable and not restricting during uphill or downhill hiking. No riding up of the underwear either. I never had to adjust during the entire 15 miles. (I was wearing the smart wool thong panty. Comfy and stink free when you are seriously sweaty!)
