Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'd definitely buy again. Put this through the ringer for a week of intense camping/hiking/spelunking in the desert. Helped regulate body temp during the day, and kept me very warm at night and warm even while wet and in the shadow of canyon walls. It also made it through a week of nearly 24/7 wear without smelling like death. I would even forget to apply deodorant. Can't comment on how it'll last through the months, but it made it through that week in excellent fashion.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not at all durable! I purchased the 150 from a local store to wear on bike-packing and camping trips. I purchased a long sleeve and short sleeve version. It didn't tale long for holes to develop in the long sleeve version (it was my go-to shirt these past two weeks). I love the comfort and the temperature regulation, which was the primary reason why I went with wool. I will have to go back to synthetic or try a different manufacturer. My running socks are nothing but Smartwool PhDs that are serving me quite well, but feel that I have been cheated with the purchase of the 150. The short sleeve I have will be limited to wearing around the house. Not at all happy with my purchase!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Testing looks good so far; Merino 150 works for me Probably the best indicator of my satisfaction with this new Merino 150 shirt is that I ordered the short-sleeve version a few days after receiving, and trying out, the long-sleeve version. The testing phase is not yet complete (no backpacking in either version of the shirt), but I have performed some tests designed to mimic backpacking trials. My first criterion was that the shirt had to be comfortable under various conditions. It passed. Cool weather, warm weather, sun beating down on the long-sleeved version, sweating-the shirt didn't bother me. And it didn't itch, although I felt the material a few times where an area of skin was apparently more sensitive than elsewhere. Anyone having small skin tags will likely notice the same thing, but it didn't stop me from wearing the shirt for multiple consecutive days and nights. Sleeping in the shirt was no problem. Temperature range appears good so far, a major concern for me. I am hoping to make the long-sleeve shirt the sunblocking single layer for summer hiking, as the 30 UPF rating is quite good. If further testing shows good results, I won't need to slather sunscreen onto my arms (I burn easily). One fabric drawback so far: the shirts don't come in light colors, so the fabric doesn't reflect the sun as well as it could. On hot days, then, my "bright blue" (really more like royal blue) shirt will be hotter than necessary. I look forward to finding a light-tan, yellow, or similar offering from SmartWool. The only other drawback, a minor one, is that the sleeves on the long-sleeve shirt are way longer than necessary, at least for size large. However, I simply fold back the excess at the wrist. Durability of this fabric remains to be seen, but I plan to put it to the test soon. Overall, so far so good; I would rate the shirt as a B+.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hole in shirt after just 3 day hikes This shirt only lasted 3 day hikes before it developed a hole from my backpack. So dissapointed.
