Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Map Case! Solid, dependable and rugged map case! There is no other Map Case one should ever consider using. I have only used Seal Line Map Cases for over a decade as an Adventure Racer. As Adventure Racers, we drag these cases through every type of weather and rough wooded environment one could think of and much more. They maintain their seals and never rip or tear like so many other map case do. I would and do highly recommend these cases to everyone I come into contact with and our race Org buys these and gives them away as prizes at Soggy Bottom Boys Racing Adventure Races...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plenty of room for more than a map I got these to use while I'm in the Peace Corps, to keep important documents and other things safe from the elements that might find their way into my living quarters. I got the medium for papers, notebooks, and documents. I'll also probably throw a map in the medium size for when I'm traveling. I got the large to store my computer and other electronics and chargers when I'm not using them. Plenty of space in both. The large is kind of gigantic, couldn't imagine needing that size for just one map.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Everything you'd expect, but nothing more. It does everything as advertised: it keeps maps dry, the plastic stays clear so that maps are legible, and it attaches to anything. Very durable.

Two minor nits:
1) The ziploc is very difficult to open, especially with cold, wet hands. Don't put your AR passport in here!
2) It's not a standard size. If the race directors use standard-sized paper, this case is barely too small and you'll have to employ some creative folding to keep the entire map in view.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Larger than I thought The compass in that picture must be huge. I got the medium and it was much larger than I expected - of course I could have busted out the ruler before I ordered (but I thought I was too smart for that). The Medium is PLENTY big for all of the trail maps that I use. A map with a 1:24000 scale would have enough room for a days hike (20+miles) in the medium, no problem. The bag itself is so strong and durable I'm ordering the small to take on backpacking trips.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Keeps your map handy and in good shape. This handy little map case will keep your map from getting wet, dirty, covered in bug spray or sunscreen or just about any other substance that can be found roaming around your pack. This case also makes it a little handier to leave your map open to the area you want it open to and to not bother folding it back up assuming the area you want to view is generally small enough to allow viewing through the clear panel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great This puppy seals. I mean it has a great seal. Thankfully we didn't go over in our canoes so as for the waterproof part of it I didn't have to experience that yet, but carried it on the outside of my jacket for the trekking, and mountain bike portion of my adventure race, and it was great. In fact I kept putting my hat and gloves in it when I didn't need to wear them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Waiting for the Thomas Edison of map cases to make something we've never seen before - zip lock! Why is there no map case with a zip lock? It is nearly impossible to line up the closure and seal these map cases - especially when it's cold outside and you have gloves on. Of course, we'll continue to use these since we have no choice, but every race I do I think "all this sport technology and we can't make a map case that's easy to close."

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dry & Easy To Use I backpack, snowshoe, camp, and hike -- never knowing for sure what the weather will hold. I use this map case to hold keys, money, cell phone, identification, etc., in addition to my maps. Everything always stays protected and dry. I do have a smaller, lighter map case that I use for shorter trips, and I think this one is easier to zip up.

What are the dimensions in inches of the different sizes?

Asked by: Mountain Mookie
In a size small, the compartment width is 6 in, the compartment length is 10.5 in. In a medium, the compartment width is 10 in, the compartment length is 14.5 in. In a large, the compartment width is 14 in, the compartment length is 2.5 in. For the overall width, add 2 in. to each compartment width. For the overall length, add 1.5 in. to each compartment length.
