Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile, Light, Easy to Use I bought these 3 years ago with the Flex option in the front and back, because i wanted to be able to use them with both my plastic and leather boots. I've used them several times with each on New Hampshire's Presidential Range and Franconia Ridge. It's so easy to adjust the length depending on which pair of boots I'm using. I have no problems with the length of the link bars with my size 10.5 boots, but you might need to buy longer bars if you have bigger feet. The straps come super long to adjust to any boot+gaiter thickness and they're easily cut back to the right length with a knife and lighter. Read the directions and leave the appropriate extra length. Does not come with a case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent but... This is my second set of Petzl crampons. The old ones are about 10 years old and still going strong. They only fit hard boots so I wanted these for my regular hiking boots. Excellent, solid, trustworthy crampons. They're there when you need them. Sharp and pokey be careful how you pack them. ONE BIG GRIPE - why did I have to order a second set of link bars to get them to fit? The included ones only fit up to about 10.5 or 11. I had to buy the long link bars for $25 to get them to fit my size 12 boots. Couldn't they just make the link bar length be an option?? The old ones fit right out of the box.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Crampon For general mountaineering these crampons are great. Nice and sharp, fit my boots very well, solid build. If you see yourself climbing ice, mixed, or anything really steep in the future I would consider going for a 12 point instead, and maybe something with vertical frontpoints so that as you grow as a mountaineer your crampons are up to the task.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Real Junk on Real Slopes I see all the high reviews on these things. I have 4 seasons on a pair of these and there is no way I can rate these dogs like that. Frankly, to me, these are schlock. Here, - look at the picture of these things carefully, very carefully. Can you see how close together the two front eyelets are? Very, very little of your boot toe is going to fit in there. Unless you have a pair of mountaineering boots that were made by a Texas Boot Maker, with a pointed toe there isn't much to "lock" the front of your boot in there. If, however, they were mounted back just 1.5 cms, the front of your boot will "snap" in there. Guess what, they don't with the eyelets that far forward. You will not notice this in the mountaineering shop. You might not notice it on a slope, or if you just happen to own whatever mountaineering boot they designed these around, but I assure you, these things will eventually come flying off. These things come off my La Sportiva all the time, every climb.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Petzl Irvis Crampon These crampons are very durable and comfortable and fit well to boot. Tilt angle allows the teeth well secured on a ski slope. The only thing that did not like, they eventually begin to be covered by a small rust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These things look knarly! First time climber, not a ton of experience but excited at the road ahead of me. Can't wait until I sink these into some ICE!
