DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Coat I recently moved to Chicago from LA and was seriously concerned that I would freeze to death. I decided on this coat over others because it is water proof and 100% down and it doesn't make me look like a fat caterpillar. I walk to work every day (10-15 minute walk) and it is wonderful! I put a down vest inside the two layers for the super cold days and have been pretty toasty since. I've been rained on a few times and just pulled the hood up and was fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from #1 True Love Jacket This jacket is perfect for the PNW. It is my everyday go to and keeps me warm, cozy and dry no matter what the weather. I never worry about having to layer or predict the on and off rainy winter weather. It really is the perfect jacket, and I adore it! I couldn't be happier- it's worth the price. Invest in your comfort! Sizing note: I am 5' 5" and 126 lbs. A small was the perfect size with room for chunky sweaters.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great fit for a parka! Love all the features of this parka. They thought of everything...soft material around the perfect height collar, the angle and size of the pockets, the tailored fit (pictures do not do this justice), the length is perfect and even the hood is exactly the right size. I have one complaint and the reason for the 3 stars... the zipper is faulty. I am not sure if it is a defect of this particular coat, or an overall design problem. For the price of this coat, I would expect that the feature you use most should work off the rack. I will have to investigate a return or warranty claim.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat! I bought this because I was tired of freezing in my previous down coat. Patagonia did a great job making this outer shell wind proof. It makes such a difference when paired with the down liner. It's a splurge, but worth it! Note: I sized up as the sleeves felt tight in my normal size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great material I went back a forth for month between this coat and the Canada goose. I was truly torn. I ended up buying this coat one because it is cheaper and two because I have dealt with Patagonia customer service before and I can't complain. This coat comes in second after Canada goose in the warmth rating. I have yet to test this coat out in extreme weather but so far so good. It is very stylish and warm. Definitely meets my standards and I am always cold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE Loving this jacket. Have worn both pieces together and separate and received many complements. Fit is flattering. I am 5'4" 120# and the small fits great. Wonder how I survived MT winters without this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great decision! I was on the fence about buying an expensive coat and went back and fourth between this one and another brand. Eventually I decided to buy this one when it went on sale. I am very happy I did. First, I like the way it looks on me, it very flattering. Second, it is warm and comfortable, and instead of dreading going outside in the cold I actually get excited to put it on, and the cold (at least so far, it's December) does not bother me as much when I wear it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits good, warm, great jacket I bought this jacket about a month ago. Haven't got a chance to wear it in cold cold weather yet. But it do feel warm when trying it on. It looks good, and true to the size. I am 5'4" about 115lb, purchased small size. Looks slim, yet have enough space for me to add a thick middle layer. Giving 4 stars only because haven't got a chance to test it in cold wet weather to prove all the functions. Cannot wait to put in on! Very happy with the purchase. p.s. The whole process of purchase is super easy, and deliver is fast!

Could I please have the chest measurement laying flat? Thanks!

Asked by: Chrissie707
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! I pulled this bad boy up from our warehouse, and got all the measurements myself. For the chest, that will be 20". For a comparison, I also did the waist (about the middle of the pockets, to give you a reference) and that was 18". Hope this helped you out.

Is there a temperature grading for this jacket? Wondering if it'll work for snow/ice/sleet or below freezing temps either with or without sweater layers.Thanks.

Asked by: cg88
Hiya cg88, thanks for your question! This parka is a great option for cold and wet climates! The waterproof and windproof outer shell offers protection from the elements while the 600 fill down inner jacket keeps you warm and toasty. Hope this helps!
