DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

GORE-TEX fabric technology

GORE-TEX®
Garments made with GORE-TEX® fabric are durably waterproof, windproof and highly breathable, providing reliable weather protection and maximum comfort for a wide range of activities. These garments keep your body dry by allowing perspiration vapor to escape so you remain cool during activity and warm during cool-down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm and light! Keeping warm with temperatures in the teens and windchill below zero. Lots of pockets and adjustable hood is nice. A little noisy, but that is just Gore-Tex outer and worth it. The inner down is very thin but still provides great insulation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fabulous Coat with One Fatal Flaw I was so happy to find this coat on sale here. I read many reviews and decided this was the one for me, despite the expense. I ordered it in size small in both the black and the green, but I thought the black coat didn't look as nice in comparison. This coat has everything: waterproof goretex shell, traceable down lining, lined hood, pit zips, sealed seams, warmth, and comfort-- except in the waist/thigh. The bottom falls so it cuts across the widest part of my hips, and when I sat down, it would feel constricting. The zipper is not two way so there was no way to avoid this unless I pulled the bottom of the jacket up to my waistline and cinched it tighter which created a bulky donut around my middle. I did read this in other reviews but I thought because I was fairly slim in the hips that this wouldn't be a problem for me. Sadly, I had to return both!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! The inside is so so so soft and warm and I love that the hood is helmet compatible! Very comfortable. Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket! Just returning from a week of skiing in CO with my new jacket. Kept me toasty warm and dry, looks great and has tons of pockets. I went from needing 4-6 layers under my previous coat to only needing 2 or 3. I originally bought the bigger size thinking I'd need multiple layers and Moosejaw made it easy to exchange it, and received it in time for my trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too Bad it's Discontinued I bought this as a gift. An excellent coat for adverse weather conditions. Apparently, Patagonia decided that the trend toward multi-layer jackets was killing sales of single layer coats and discontinued this coat. The features are excellent, construction is also excellent. You just can't buy it any more (except for remainders).
