Product Description Item No.   10252928

The Patagonia Women's Nano Air Hoody is a synthetic jacket for alpine climbing and fast, aerobic activity. The Nano Air Hoody uses a nylon ripstop shell and plain-weave liner that provides plenty of stretch for movement with a durable water repellent finish to deter a light rain or snow. Worn as an outer layer, the jacket provides warmth and breathability, to combat the cold weather without overheating as you work your way to the top. When worn as a mid-layer under a lightweight shell, the synthetic 60 gram FullRange Insulation turns up the heat in the thermal department. The hood stretches, meant to be worn next to the head, but capable of fitting over a low-profile helmet when necessary. Two chest pockets and two hand pockets secure smaller items close by without interfering with your harness. The 12.4 ounce hoody is ready for your next adventure.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and light-weight with a flatter fit This jacket has been a perfect companion for hiking and backpacking (and I even wear it in town!) I'm impressed with how light it is without losing any of the warmth I expect out of a Patagonia jacket at this price point. It has held up very well - even with a heavy pack rubbing against it for hours. The fit it flattering too, and doesn't make me feel super boxy like a lot of other jackets I've tried in the past. I know the price is intimidating, but if you are looking for a quality jacket that is durable, light-weight, warm, flattering and still leaves room for your layers - this is it! And for sizing reference: I am 5'6'' and 130 lbs and I wear a Small in this jacket (my usual size).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Stretchy, cozy warmth! I've been wanting this jacket for MONTHS and I finally bought it. I had to go a size up because I need a women's large in the arms, but a medium in the torso (apparently I have these climber muscles called lats and delts)... or maybe it's just my 150# 5'5" "athletic" build. I figured that was the better choice for wearing it under a harness anyway. I love the chest pockets (accessible in a harness) but it ALSO has hand pockets, which are great for hiking/walking around town. I wish the wrists were tighter (love BD and Arc'Teryx' wrist designs) but that's a pretty small complaint. I also love that the insulation doesn't settle and give cold spots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Jacket I am the first one to admit I have a LOT of jackets... this one is perfect and very different from anything I own. Its the perfect weight for those late fall months when its still nice enough to be outside but getting pretty chilly. I am 5'2'', 111lbs and I got the small! It fits big enough to fit a light weight fleece under but also fits snug enough that I would be fine without layer underneath and not be cold from loose air. The color is awesome! I got the chartreuse. Its bright and fun and a hint of old school Patagonia. Though this jacket does not seem like it would hold up well to any moisture or rain I do think it is perfect for an active, chilly day outside!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs as described! I purchase this jacket about a month ago. I've worn it around the neighborhood in some cool temps but finally put it to the test this weekend hiking in the mountains. When we arrived at the trail head temps were in the mid 30s and the snow was calf deep. As we climbed the temps dropped and the snow got deeper. I was wearing the nano air hoody, a thin long sleeved shirt and thin hiking pants. I wasn't expecting temps to be so cold but it didn't matter. The jacket performed perfectly. It kept me warm and was breathable. I was able to regulate my temp by removing the hood. I worked up a sweat during the climb but didn't get cold when we stopped. My companions had to add and remove layers to stay comfortable but the only adjustment I needed was to take my hood on or off. I couldn't be more pleased. The fit was great. I weigh 130 and am 5'5" and I got a medium. The sleeves were a little long but I was glad they were because I forgot my gloves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Lightweight Jacket I had been skiing/hiking/casual venturing in a primaloft jacket for years and after ripping the sleeve open I was in the market for a new lightweight insulating jacket that I could wear either on its own or under a ski jacket in the winter. This jacket is foots the bill perfectly. It is extremely lightweight - you barely feel like you have anything on when you're wearing it. It is very soft, and warm yet breathable.,,,,I do have to warn the jacket runs a bit big - I am 5'6" and weigh 130 pounds and normally buy mediums for outerwear (and did for this). The sleeves are a bit long and I think I probably should've gotten a small, although this way I'll be able to wear thicker layers underneath if necessary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Versatile! I bought this jacket for a raft trip in Alaska. I wanted something that would be good both for keeping warm while sitting in a raft as well as hiking and layering. This jacket performed very well. I really like to layer it with a nano air vest. It is stretchy enough you can layer under it but trim enough you can put a raincoat over it. I wore it after I got back all Fall on chilly mornings. I liked the tailored gray color so much I ordered a second one when it went on sale. I am 5'8" 130# and the medium fits well. The hood is great to keep the wind off the back of your neck and easily fits over a hat for extra warmth. I like the looks of it better than the nano puff jacket but that's just my taste in fashion. The look made me buy the first jacket and the performance led me to buy a second one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from looove this jacket! may never take it off. After a few days it’s passed many tests so far in WY winter as a warm outer layer for chilly dog walks & a comfortable midlayer for skiing. As advertised, it’s light weight & breathes well. I can go from 30° outside into a warm home & not need to de-layer to be comfortable. It's only slightly wind resistant due to the breath ability- but if you add a midlayer or a shell the wind is no problem. Even with temps below freezing the jacket paired with a midlayer keeps me warm. The material is soft & cloud-like. The arms & body are long which is a big plus for me (at 5’10” & long limbs)! There’s a wide range of motion without the arms hiking up/exposing your midsection/back. I usually wear a medium in Patagonia, but loved the Cobalt Blue color option which was only in a large. The large actually fits really well & looks nice with or without layers. (Medium probably would’ve fit like a glove = nice unless you want the ability to layer.) I can’t wait to try the jacket on more adventures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits like a glove! Bought this last month and I love it! Perfect for running around doing errands, or wearing as a base layer on colder ski days. I'm 5'5", 125 lbs, athletic figure - small is perfect.

Does the fabric have a tendency to pill? I love the way it feels but worry it won't hold up against a pack or rubbing against a shell.

Asked by: Liz1
Hiya Liz1, thanks for your question! This jacket is designed specifically for hiking and climbing so it is meant to wear with a pack or harness. I haven't heard of any complaints of pilling. Hope this helps!

How odor resistant is this jacket? I've had the nano puff jacket for years and love that it doesn't stink. Will be primarily using this jacket for skiing and high aerobic cold weather activities

Asked by: JC1234
Hey there! Thanks for reaching out to us. You guys are asking the hard-hitting questions today, and me likey! This is truly one odor resistant jacket. I can honestly say that I've never had a customer complain about the jacket holding a funky smell. In fact, I ran across some reviews online that says just the opposite, check them out: "...because I have really used the jacket, I was expecting that “exercise” order (Sp, 'odor') to linger. Nothing. No smell. I even had my husband test the smell factor. He couldn’t smell the odor factor, either" Reviewer #1. "I've worn it and sweated in it every weekend for two months, haven't washed it once, and it still smells new!" - Reviewer #2. Hope this helped you out.
