The Patagonia Women's Insulated Prairie Dawn Parka is a lined canvas jacket for getting the job done through fall's chill. Inspired by work-wear and certainly capable if you need to head outdoors to chop some wood, the 100% organic cotton canvas is rugged enough while still providing a feminine touch. Pull in the waist with the drawcord at the center and the longer, above the knee length gives plenty of coverage. Zip up, snap the placket, then pop on the hood and the 1/4 inch shearling pile fleece lining on the inside will do the rest of the work.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Is this jacket designed more for fall use or is it suitable for winter use in cold, snowy climates?

Asked by: annaoak
Hiya Annaoak, thanks for your question! You can wear this parka in both fall and winter weather. Depending on the weather and how you layer, it could definitely be warm enough. FYI, it has DWR (durable water repellent) but it is technically not waterproof. Hope this helps!

Hi.this is Cathy.almost 5'4",weighs 128-130lbs,wears medium with almost all jackets.Which size do i choose with this parka jacket?

Asked by: Keyti
Hi Cathy! Thanks for the question! This jacket is true to size, however it has a "Relaxed Fit". So I would say you are actually in between sizes. If you want a more formfitting look, then I would get a Small. If you want a looser fit, and plan on wearing layers underneath, then I would go with Medium. Hope this helps!

I tried on this in a size medium in stores and it was very large on me. I am 5'7 and 115lbs. I am wondering if a small or extra small would be my best fit? In a question someone had above the xsmall and small were described to be the same fit

Asked by: mccoy23
Hiya mccoy23, thanks for your question! Based on your description, I would suggest a size XS. The XS and Small sizes have the same length but the fit is different. Hope this helps!

What size would you recommend for a woman 5'9" 175#'s

Asked by: Olmo
Hiya Olmo, thanks for your question! Based on your description, I would recommend a size Large or XL. You're right on the border of the two sizes... so if you planning on layering a lot of clothes underneath, I would select the XL... otherwise, the Large would probably fit nicely. Hope this helps!
