A casual look with a regular fit that falls mid-thigh takes you to work, through the town, and traveling along the eastern sea coast. Hard-wearing, 100% organic cotton canvas is workwear inspired, yet comfortable and stylish enough for everyday wear. DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A perfect parka I needed a water resistant longer coat that would keep me warm as well. This one is awesome. I did not want a nylon/polyester outside and the fabric of this coat is perfect Like cotton but quite rain snow resist. FIits great. Perfection!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best jacket and costumer service Jacket is top notch. Warm, high quality stays dry and is fashionable. Keeps me warm in 30 degrees with just a long sleeve t, 20 degree range warm with a thicker shirt under. Best part is it covers your bum so you really don’t feel the elements. Great pockets, lining. I am 5’9 140 and the medium is perfect even with a pull over underneath. Shipping was crazy fast, ordered Wednesday evening and got it Friday. Excellent company.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really warm for thickness! I get so many compliments on this jacket! It does the job in Michigan winters but would suggest wearing a sweater under it if it’s really cold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Patagonia Jacket I live in Norrhern Michigan and it has been below 0, I have worn this Patagonia Jacket and it is extremely warm. It has a great style that I can dress up/down.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not for petite frames Great quality and warm, but not designed for short and petite women. I'm 5'1, 115lbs and was drowning in an XS. Other Patagonia jackets I've ordered in other styles fit me very well however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy Coat I bought this coat a few weeks ago and absolutely fell in love with it. It is very comfy, cozy and heavy duty - definitely keeps you warm. One of my favorite features within the coat is the stretchy strings inside the coat so it hugs your waist. Highly recommend - fits true to size, runs a little bigger

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great looking warm coat. love the look and feel of this coat. I bought the tan color like the contrast of cream color fleece lining on hood. Coat fits perfectly and is sized correctly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm and Cozy but not that stylish Really nice jacket. Super warm. Runs a little big so be mindful of that. It's for my wife and she ultimately returned it because it was kind of plain. But very good quality coat.

Is this product vegan?

Asked by: Deven30
I am so sorry for the late response! Unfortunately, the lining on this Parka is made of shearling, so it will not be a vegan product. The closest option that is vegan would be the Radalie Parka. I included a link below. Hope this helps! https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Patagonia-Women-s-Radalie-Parka_10312879_10208_10000001_-1_

Really love Brown color, Whether it will have get Size S again? Or any other place I can find it?

Asked by: Tracyzhou
Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! Am I the only person who thinks of Sesame Street when this jacket comes up? I mean, Prairie Dawn's still around, right? I'll have to ask my niece. So, we don't get any information on any future inventory, sadly. The best bet will be to check the site periodically as we're getting new stock in daily! Hope this helps you out. Hugsies!

Is this Patagonia's version of a barn jacket? Work with horses, barn, carriages, etc and love Patagonia. Other "well known" barn jackets brands are huge

Asked by: Honneerider
Thanks for the question! The Prairie Dawn Parka is not specifically an Equestrian piece. It is possible to wear in the barn, but it will for sure show dirt and hair will get caught in the fleece. Also, you will want to layer - IE: long sleeve shirt and vest. The Parka will not ventilate well if you are super active - such as cleaning stalls at a fast past. There are just too many unknowns to give you a direct answer. It really comes down to a) is the barn heated and b) do you get warm easily. I would check out Carhartt jackets - as those are made to be more durable and rugged. I included some links below. Hope this helps a little! https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Carhartt-Women-s-Weathered-Duck-Wesley-Coat_10335058_10208_10000001_-1_ https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Carhartt-Women-s-Crawford-Sherpa-Lined-Coat_10352878_10208_10000001_-1_ https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Carhartt-Women-s-EI-Paso-Utility-Jacket_10334948_10208_10000001_-1_

Is this product windproof/resistant?

Asked by: caveman
That's a great question! Unfortunately, the Prairie Dawn Parka has water-resistant protection only. Sadly, there is nothing similar to suggest. I would check out the Patagonia Women's Mountain View Jacket as it is one of their most stylish pieces that does offer wind protection. I included a link below. I hope this helps a little! https://www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Patagonia-Women-s-Mountain-View-Jacket_10330470_10208_10000001_-1_

I am in between a size large and extra large. I rarely wear heavy sweaters or sweatshirts, normally just a long sleeve t-shirt or flannel. I keep reading that it runs big, but I'm so afraid it will be too small if I order the large. Recommendations?

Asked by: christy2639
Hi there, thanks for your question! If you are between sizes, I suggest selecting the smaller size. I am between a small and a medium. I tried on size small and it fit me just fine. (I tried it on with a long sleeve shirt and a thin cardigan.) Hope this helps!

What is the cold factor? What is warm to. Live in Chicago and it gets to sub zero.

Asked by: Debbie
Hiya Debbie, thanks for your question! The Prairie Dawn Jacket might be a little to thin. It is not a wind proof jacket. It has some insulation, 60 grams of Thermogreen, but not enough for bitter cold Chicago winters. How does this coat do in the snow?

Asked by: joanna
Hiya joanna, thanks for your question! This parka is water resistant but not waterproof. It should be fine during light to medium snow but it wouldn't stay dry in heavy wet snow for a prolonged amount of time. Hope this helps!
