Product Description Item No.   10312698

The Patagonia Women's Houdini Jacket is an ultralight, ultra-packable wind jacket. Made with 100% ripstop nylon fabric, this jacket is abrasion resistant and does a great job blocking out the wind. The slim fit will keep this layer out of your way, but you can easily fit a light to midweight layer underneath. Toss it on when you need some coverage, and stuff it into its own chest pocket when not in use. Clip it to your pack or harness and you won't even know it's there. You'll be glad to pull a Houdini® out of your hat if you get roped into an entangled situation.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Only Lightweight Layer You Need I have had the Houdini for 2 years now, and have put a lot of use into it. This is the first review I have written because on my windy afternoon run, I thought, I have to share my enthusiasm for this fantastic jacket. It is incredibly light, like, you can ball it up and tuck it in your hiking sock, pocket it, or wear it around your waist and you won't even notice it. It's totally breathable and seems to keep you just the right temperature. It works great for running, where I'm generating body heat for it to hold on to, but I've also worn it just sitting on the beach and it keeps me warm. I also use it as sun protection- the hood is a great feature (if a little dorky) to keep the sun off the neck. It especially comes in handy under rain gear for commercial fishing, where the internal environment can change from chilly and windy to energetically building warmth. I like the cinched sleeves and slightly flared bottom, and the bright colors for visibility. The chest pocket is the only place I see room for improvement. It works maybe for a credit card or single key, but if you put a phone in it, it sort of weighs down the fabric because it is so light. It might do better with a back or upper arm pocket. All in all I love this jacket, and plan to use it year round for years to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True Love I love my Houdini! It is water and mosquito resistant. This is a real benefit in the Alaska summers where the mosquitoes are large and hungry! It also offers much needed wind protection and a layer of warmth. Thank you Patagonia. It is my favorite jacket. I travel with it everywhere!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How I love thee Houdini! I have bought THREE (different colors) of these this year...I took my first one backpacking on the John Muir Trail this summer and it became my favorite article of clothing. I could wear it to cut the cold and wind in the AM, and during the afternoon to keep the harsh alpine sun from frying my skin without overheating me. And it is SOOO LIGHT. I also pop one in my handbag for cold stores or keep a packed one on my keychain for walks. Worth every penny.
