The Patagonia Women's Downtown Parka is a down insulated coat for cities with cold winters. The long coat falls past the knee in a slim fit, shaped with wide, flattering baffles filled with 600 fill power duck down. Take a stand against the cold with the tall, shawl-like collar that features a hidden zipper, revealing a cozy hood for those super snowy days. The front zip has a wind flap to block drafts and is two-way, so you can drive to work without being trapped inside, unable to move your legs. The hand pockets zipper shut along the seam, hiding when not in use and you'll find a hidden chest pocket on the interior for your phone to protect it against the weather. Now all you have to do is pluck up the courage to step outside.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic feminine coat I bought this coat 3 weeks ago and have worn in it 30+ degree F weather. It's fairly warm. I bought a size small. I have broad shoulder and short torso and weigh 111lbs and height 5'3". It's great, stylish and warm. I can fit a sweater under it as well however slightly tight but I don't mind. I originally got the medium and the sleeves were too long and I looked frumpy. My only complaint would be that I think it could be a little bit warmer and also the feathers keep poking out and I am pulling feathers out daily ...... Not quite sure if this is normal. Got a great price and customer service at moose jaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Old Man Winter, bring it on! I felt that way back in October when I ordered this parka and now that winter is here (29* this a.m., never mind the wind gusts) I really feel I'm ready to handle winter. When the parka arrived, I loved the look and the fit and the weight. While well insulated, it's sleek, I don't feel like the Pillsbury Doughboy in it. So today I finally got to test run the coat (I was saving it for below 40 temps) and it's awesome. Love the stand-up collar for keeping the breeze out while walking the dog. I was toasty, the dog not so much. Built in hood is great though so far I haven't had to use it, but with the collar, I might not need to!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cozy to the max in the frozen tundra! I love this coat! I wear it to fend off Wisconsin winters, and I haven't been cold yet. It's like wearing a giant down blanket. I love the collar/hood, too. It ups the cozy/warmth factor substantially! However, if I had my way, I'd tweak a few items: - It sheds feathers. Not a ton, but enough that I hesitate to wear the coat if I'm going somewhere I need to look nice. - The coat is pretty slim and sleek, but that means anything in the pockets (like gloves) makes you look lumpy. All in all, a high-quality, warm, cute coat!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sleeves were WAY too long. Must return. So sad. I had been eyeing this coat since last season. It was too late in the season last year when I discovered it and I missed out. I was so excited to find it on Moosejaw (with the 20% off anniversary sale - Patagonia rarely have sales). When it arrived I noticed there was quite a bit of material bunching in the elbow. When I pulled the sleeve down all the way, only my fingertips were visible. I am 5'5" and weigh 150 pounds, athletic build. The small is too small and the medium, which is the size I ordered, is perfect everywhere except the sleeve. Sleeve length is a dealbreaker. Why Patagonia, why?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice coat! This coat is great, and is very flattering. It fits a little slimmer than most down jackets, lessening the "Michelin man" look that makes me feel like a dough boy. The only strange thing about this coat is the collar; it looks cool, but if you have long hair (like I do), you must wear it in a ponytail or else it gets stuck in the collar in peculiar places. Overall, I recommend this coat for warmth and style!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat This coat is a little longer than most and received excellent reviews on other sites, so I went to check it out. It seems thin for the 600 fill, but good quality. I tried it on and realized that I would need a large if I would need to layer, I have a north face osito I usually wear under all of my coats, I tend to get cold easily. This coat had plenty of room in the large, but the medium, what I normally would wear, was pretty tight against my bust area, without any sweaters or osito. The length of the sleeves were perfect for me, I don't have particularly long arms, but this year I have not found any coats other than patagonia, that don't show my wrists when I reach out or up. This would have been a go for me, but after trying the down with it, I decided to go for that one. This seems like a really great coat though. I'm 5'8 130 lbs, 36 bust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great winter jacket! I love love love this jacket! It has kept me toasty warm in below zero temps here in Wisconsin. The length is great, just below my knees. The fit is very flattering for a down jacket. It is not boxy like many others. The two way zipper is very convenient when driving. The hood is different from others that I've had, but now that I'm used to it I wouldn't change a thing about it. It forms a nice, warm, cocoon around my head and doesn't fall down in the wind. I am 5'5" and 115 lbs and the size small fits perfectly. Winters are definitely more enjoyable now that I have this jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Coat for Extreme Cold This is a heavier version of the Fiona jacket (which I also own and wear for up to 45-50F weather). For colder weather, this is the perfect jacket. I weighs more and don't pack down as well as the Fiona, but is the perfect everyday winter coat. The collar is unique as it stands up very high to block the wind from you neck and chin. Collar is wide, which allows for a nice thick scarf. The package hood for rain is inside the collar. Fit: I wear size S for all short jackets but need a M for this long jacket (layering, longer sleeves and hips). Patagonia's fit for long coats tend to be straight up and down (so hips will fit snug if you have any kind of hips). Love it

what's a good way to measure sleeve legnth? I am not particularly long-armed, but find when I reach forward, my wrists often show in most longer parkas I've tried. I see above that a reviewer noted longer sleeves, so I'm a little excited to try this coat

I have very long arms-  this was one of the only coats that fit correctly on me-

How does this coat compare with the Patagonia Fiona down coat in terms of thickness and warmth? Thank you.

Asked by: Yann
Hey there, The Patagonia Downtown Parka and the Patagonia Fiona Parka are both slim fit, water resistant and have 600-fill power duck down. The Downtown Parka is longer and sits below-the-knee while the Fiona Parka ends above-the-knee. The Fiona Parka is also windproof.

Is there fleece inside the hand pockets?

Asked by: Kind
Hey there, thanks for reaching out to us! This jacket has fleece inside the pockets however the entire pocket is not fleece-lined. Kind of tricky! Only one side of the pocket is lined with fleece, and it's the side that is closest to the outer fabric of the jacket (does that make sense?) it's the side that the back of your hands would touch while you have them in your pockets. I hope this helps!

Trying to determine if i should order a l or xl. I am 5'7". Wt is 155.  36 bust.  The downtown parka says fitted and i usually have a sweater or sweatshirt size chart says L

Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! If you ever find yourself between two sizes with a particular piece of apparel, I would most often error on the larger size, especially if you want to layer underneath.
