Product Description Item No.   10281615

The Patagonia Women's Downtown Parka is a down insulated coat for cities with cold winters. The long coat falls past the knee in a slim fit, shaped with wide, flattering baffles filled with 600 fill power duck down. Take a stand against the cold with the tall, shawl-like collar that features a hidden zipper, revealing a cozy hood for those super snowy days. The front zip has a wind flap to block drafts and is two-way, so you can drive to work without being trapped inside, unable to move your legs. The hand pockets zipper shut along the seam, hiding when not in use and you'll find a hidden chest pocket on the interior for your phone to protect it against the weather. Now all you have to do is pluck up the courage to step outside.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and stylish I bought this jacket on sale over the summer, and now that the weather is cooling off I'm very pleased with it. The coat is warm without being bulky, so it still looks stylish. It took me a few minutes to figure out the hood. The hood tucks into a high collar so it can be worn without the hood or unzipped and kept out. Large hood will be extremely valuable once the snow starts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super warm! I bought this coat overt the summer, anticipating a cold Chicago winter. So glad I did! The rainy cold has not kept me form beign outside. Love this coat-great length, not too bulky, fit is slim.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light weight and really warm Kept really nice and warm in 20 degrees. Let's see how it does in minus. Really right not heavy at all and feels somewhat durable. All together worth the money and it looks great

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit and warm I bought this for my daughter as a gift. She is a preschool teacher and will spend time outside in the winter with the kids. She also spends time in the ice rink cheering on her brother. She was so excited to have a coat this warm for her outdoor activities in the cold upper Michigan environment. She is very petite and this coat fits her perfect and will keep her warm this winter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fit! I bough this jacket in preparation for the winters in Colorado. Winter has not started yet so I can't speak to the warmth of the jacket in the snow but I could only keep it on for a few minutes while trying it on because it gets toasty, fast! Its a great cut as far as parkas go....avoiding the Michillan Man look as much as possible. IMPORTANT to note: this does NOT have a hood. It does have a large collar that you can extend above your head but it will not remain in place like a hood. If you are looking for a hood on your jacket, consider another option. Overall, I'm glad I bought this jacket and look forward to using it this winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous fit, functionality & styling I bought this coat for my daughter, who is 5'9 and a size 6. It fits her perfectly! She loves the fact that it is long enough to cover her legs and the arm length is good, too! She also loves that it has a hood that can be tucked away.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm without the Bulk I needed a warmer, longer coat for Chicago winters, and couldn't pass up this one when it was on sale. I've never been disappointed by Patagonia, and this coat is no different. I love the collar that stands up when the hood is tucked away. It has been very warm (although this winter was pretty mild!). The zipper does stick a bit because the inside can get caught on it, but once I figured out the reason it was sticking, I can fix it quickly. Medium fits true to size.

what's a good way to measure sleeve legnth? I am not particularly long-armed, but find when I reach forward, my wrists often show in most longer parkas I've tried. I see above that a reviewer noted longer sleeves, so I'm a little excited to try this coat

How does this coat compare with the Patagonia Fiona down coat in terms of thickness and warmth? Thank you.

Asked by: Yann
Hey there, The Patagonia Downtown Parka and the Patagonia Fiona Parka are both slim fit, water resistant and have 600-fill power duck down. The Downtown Parka is longer and sits below-the-knee while the Fiona Parka ends above-the-knee. The Fiona Parka is also windproof.

Is there fleece inside the hand pockets?

Asked by: Kind
Hey there, thanks for reaching out to us! This jacket has fleece inside the pockets however the entire pocket is not fleece-lined. Kind of tricky! Only one side of the pocket is lined with fleece, and it's the side that is closest to the outer fabric of the jacket (does that make sense?) it's the side that the back of your hands would touch while you have them in your pockets. I hope this helps!

Hey there, Thanks for reaching out to us! If you ever find yourself between two sizes with a particular piece of apparel, I would most often error on the larger size, especially if you want to layer underneath.
