The Patagonia Women's Down Sweater Hoody is a winter jacket for technical use such as winter hiking or skiing as well as casual outings like backyard campfires. The outer shell features a lightweight yet durable 100% recycled polyester ripstop, and a durable water repellent finish to deter light rains or snows. With 800-fill power down packed all the way around and up through the hood, you'll keep body heat trapped and stay toasty warm out there. The jacket compresses down small, into its own chest pocket in fact, so you can bring it along on any trip that may potentially turn chilly. Forget your hairstyle and pull up the hood to keep your ears toasty for the rest of the day. I'm sure your hair will forgive you later.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Got this coat for Christmas and love it. Warm, but not too warm. Great roomy hood for super protection from the elements. My mom wants one too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, fitted style I purchased this coat for Christmas in Illinois. The temperatures dropped to single digits and it kept me warm. If you are looking to layer or wear thicker sweaters underneath then I would recommend going up a size as the style is very form fitting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket! I purchased this jacket for my daughter as a gift. She reports that this is an awesome jacket, yet lightweight and breathable. It is perfect for the outdoors and everyday wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful seasonal jacket I purchased this jacket for my daughter. It’s a beautiful seasonal jacket which she wore as the season transitioned from fall to winter. She plans to pull it back out when these sub zero temps are done. Fits true to size and I would highly recommend this jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket! I got this jacket for my girlfriend--it quickly became her favorite jacket. She loves that it's super warm and pretty 'low profile' -- not bulky at all. She's petite (5'0" tall and maybe 110lbs) and the XS fits just right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s so nice Bought this for my girlfriend. Really nice, 10/10 would eat if it wasn’t so expensive or if it had a warranty. The hood covers your mouth which is pretty cool because then bugs won’t fly in and your mouth stays warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Completely stood up to the test! I absolutely love this coat! I had indecisively shopped around for a hooded poof coat for about a year and a half. I finally settled on this one as I was returning to winter in the US after 9 months in hot and humid Panama. The coat met me in Seattle in early December (temps in the 40s) and kept me surprisingly warm despite my lack of acclimation. Then on to Denver (temps in the 30s) where it kept me warm. Then to Little Rock (temps in the 50s-60s) where it kept me warm, but not too warm. Up to Kansas City (temps in the 30s-40s) and I was warm. Then... all the way up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (temps around -5). I did not buy this coat for wearing in the super cold, yet, it kept me warm (with an added layer underneath)! I have been wearing daily for 6 weeks and have found the fit versatile enough to layer underneath as needed depending on the weather. I even wore this coat to play broomball and didn't get too sweaty (granted it was about 7 degrees out...)! The hood on this coat is big enough to wear a hat under, yet fitted enough to not blow off (also, it has a way to tighten the hood, just to be sure.) It zips up high enough to cover my nose, but isn't uncomfortable if I don't zip it all the way. Finally, the fit is feminine and cute, even though it is a winter coat. The only small thing is that when the pockets are unzipped, they tend to catch one specific stitch on the sleeve. I'm going to write to Patagonia about it, and it isn't a big enough deal to not buy the coat, but I thought I would share. After a year and a half of not being able to make up my mind on which brand/style I wanted, I'm so happy I chose the Patagonia Women's Down Sweater Hoodie. It has surpassed my expectations!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable but not very windproof This jacket is useful for most cold weather but isn't very wind proof. It is great for cool fall weather in Boston but now that the cold is pretty bitter in January, I need a thicker base layer underneath or to just switch to my hard shell.

Does anyone know what temperature this is rated to? Could it be used as an outerlayer for Alaska in February? Or is something warmer going to be necessary? (Assume I wouldbe having a few layers beneath that are weather appropriate).

Asked by: crj1036
Hiya, thanks for your question. While this isn't a "winter jacket" or parka, you can wear this as an outerlayer, Warmth is different for each person's own body temperature, so I would definitely layer accordingly. Hope this helps!

Is this the most recent version, with the longer, rounded hem in back?

Asked by: Fishstix
Hiya Fishstix, thanks for your question! This jacket does have a slight rounded hem in the back, but it looks pretty natural. It hasn't been changed for the past few seasons, so even previous season colors will fit the same. Hope this helps!
