The Patagonia Women's Alpine Houdini Jacket is an ultralight rain jacket for keeping unexpected weather at bay during your climb. The Alpine Houdini packs small into the single chest pocket so you can clip it to your harness and forget about it until the wind picks up or the skies turn grey. The 100% nylon ripstop shell is durable and water-resistant with a durablewater repellent finish for additional protection. The hood is helmet compatible and has a one-pull adjustment to keep it in place while out on the rock face.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Jacket I bought this jacket a few weeks ago and have been wearing it consistently. Because it's so lightweight, it's pretty bare-bones. I wish that there were more pockets, but I knew that there was only a single smallish pocket at the time of purchase so I can't complain too much. I've been getting a lot of complements on the dark green color. I put it in my backpack on a daily basis so I'm prepared if some showers come. It has done pretty well so far in light showers, and it performed okay in heavy rain (a bit of soak-through but nothing substantial). I've been layering it under my Patagonia Down Sweater and it's been a sweet combo. I wore the jacket touring last weekend and was happy with it (it was sunny and 30-ish degrees). The price is a bit high for what you're getting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real rain jacket that weighs only 5 ounces! This is not your usual stiff, bulky rain jacket. The fabric is sleek but durable, and the Tabasco color is gorgeous. All seams are taped so it will be really waterproof. The jacket is shaped slim in the hips, so might consider a larger size to avoid tightness.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight and well made I've not yet tried out this item, but it seems to be well made and is certainly well made and looks like it will pack up into the pocket easily. A slightly more generous sizing would have been better to allow for layering underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This jacket rocks!!!! I wore my houdini and placed it somewhere in the little pouch. It will reappear, but for now, I need a quick run and ride jacket. Since it is still chilly in Chicago, the thought of having one with insulation made sense. Small enough to carry, yet warm enough if it turns as it often does in chitown. ,,I will buy the regular Houdini if the black ones doesn't reappear soon. Love this jacket, but it is more about Spring, Summer and Fall. ,,

does it have pit zips? and is it breatheably waterproof?

Asked by: Mamiam
Thanks for the question! The Alpine Houdini Jacket is a waterproof/ breathable shell. Unfortunately, there are no pit zips or hand pockets. Only one chest pocket :(
