Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Stealth Pack! Funny you should invite me to write a review, because just last night, I got more compliments on my serious Stealth pack. OK, I got soooo tired of packs that were too small, too narrow, so I totally went for this one. I don’t care who laughs, I am the woman who wears this thing smiling! Wallet, phone, sunglasses, EarPods, lip balm etc etc etc. fit with tons of room for everything. It is a backpack on my waist and guys are the first ones to comment and ask where I got my “waist backpack.” This is one of the greatest purchases I’ve ever made. On the serious side I have disability and this makes my life so easy, including to medical appointments. Seriously recommended for anyone who finds this kind of quality and size appealing. My only wish is that Patagonia made truly smart zipper pulls. These are super tiny and dumb, I don’t how guys use it with their larger fingers. I’m looking for something to make the zipper pulls comfortable and user-friendly. I’ll probably start seriously fishing now that I have this stealth pack. I love to hike so it’s great for that too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great wading addition. Bought this for Salmon fishing in Pulaski, NY. Very happy with it. Once you take your spot on the SR you have to keep it or lose it so this was perfect. Fold down table helped tie rigs. More than enough room to keep supplies, eggs, gloves, sunglasses, etc. Love the water bottle holders (one for coffee thermos, one for beer!). Always pretty comfortable, but especially comfortable with heavier clothes to keep neck strap from rubbing. I've gone with fly-fishing exclusive brands but Patagonia continues to beat or match them. Great stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Pack Love this pack! The wife and I do quite a bit of walking on local trails. We needed something less than a day pack, but more than a typical fanny pack, to carry two large water bottles, maybe a Subway footlong, with room enough to stash a windbreaker or two. The Stealth Hip Pack does all that and more. If anything, the pack is over engineered with little zippers and pouches everywhere. The pack rides comfortably on my waist and it's made by Patagonia so it's built to last a long time. Last word, the pack is a technical fly fishing pack, so there are some features specific to that activity like the neck strap and a neat little fold down work platform that you may never least for the intended purpose. Have fun!

Can the hip belt be tucked away to use this as a shoulder bag?

Asked by: Niles2
Hiya Niles2, thanks for your question! Unfortunately, the hip belt is fixed so it can't be tucked away. Sorry about that!
