Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I love this jacket. It's beautifully made (as in perfect). It fits true to size, in my opinion (I got large and I'm 5'-10" and 190#). I think the sleeves are intentionally slightly long. The front pockets are nicely placed and their expanding gussets function very well. The inside pocket is a little small. The wrist gaskets are a neat idea and are well thought-out. I haven't worn them with gloves yet, but they are comfortable when not wearing gloves. Mine is Mango and, although it is very bright, I love the colors and this particular combination of colors. (Does look a little like road construction crew colors, though).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hurricane Proof Talk about a good first impression. Right after I got this jacket I was in the thick of it that was Super Storm/ Hurricane Sandy. In both the rain and the snow that it dumped on us it certainly proved its worth. Hands down my favorite thing about this jacket is the wrist gaskets...what a great addition. The fit is spot on as it is cut athletic but easy to layer underneath as the temps drop. At this point I have been through multiple Gore-tex Shells and this is my favorite so far. Its burly and is taking all the abuse I can give it. As a disclaimer I test products for the Gore company.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from bombproof superjacketzilla this jacket is so well made. I would usually swear by arc'tyrex but this jacket surprised me. i love the snug fit. best hood I've seen by far. the rubber gaskets at the wrists are an awesome addition and the chest pockets are designed so that they can balloon out if you need the extra space. shell material feels especially resistant. This jacket has all the extras. Still a fan of arc'tyrex but prior to wearing this jacket I wouldn't have expected anything could compare. This jacket does. disclaimer: I field test and occasionally receive Gore-Tex jackets for that purpose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from best shell available Full disclosure, I am a Gore-Tex Mountaintech. This jacket is the absolute best shell I have ever used. It has all the stuff you want: waterproof, windproof, breathable, lightweight. It also has fully adjustable hood, sweet soft wrist gaskets, big pit zips. I am 6'1 190 lbs, and a large fits me perfect; large enough to put layer underneath, or on warmer days just a single layer will treat you well. Bottom line, if you are looking for a solid, well constructed gore-tex shell with all the bells and whistles and the stamp of approval from Patagonia, this is THE jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Totally my style It took awhile to find an insulating jacket that fit my needs. Marmot Cauldron, too loose. Patagonia UL Down, warm but funky translucent didn't lend itself to work wear. Arcteryx Atom LT, not as warm as expected. Then I found this gem and love it. Fit is consistent with other Patagonia jackets. It's warm, light, and doesn't sacrifice duarability. All a great jacket that I look forward to having for many more years.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this jacket. What I love about this jacket is first, it is one tough jacket. Second is the big front pockets, which makes a perfect place shove your skins. Third, the hand gaskets are pretty nice. The jacket is a little longer then a lot of jackets, which I like to keep me dry. I have the Mango version of this jacket, I know it looks bright, but it really is a pretty nice color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, refined, great durability, rivals Arc'teryx in quality. Got this shell on sale to use as a soft approach alternative to some issue arc'teryx gear I have. Couldn't be happier with this shell. It has been stripped of all unnecessary details, leaving just well thought features in the best materials. Pleated, non-hand warmer pockets are great for stuffing gps, licky chewies, maps into, they swallow everything while contributing nothing in the way of bulk when not being used. Hood adjustments are stellar, from helmet to head they keep your hood where you want it without compromising periphs. Cuff gaskets are a feature I didn't know I needed but just awesome for sealing the coat over-gloves. Size was great, medium fit well on 5'9", 175 lb. broad shouldered frame, a bit looser than arc'teryx but still svelte enough for serious mobility. Gore pro shell has survived serious abrasion from packs, body rappel a dozen or so feet (seriously), scrambling and smearing generally the whole self against rock, and has kept me completely dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durability Its durability is stupendous but not as good as my Marmot which feels like sharkskin(Gore Tex XCR).
