DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from simply the best light weight water proof jacket Warm: This jacket suits me well for temp between 25F-35F with under shirt. With one more mid layer, it can handle 0-25F for no problem. Comfortable: the most comfortable water proof jacket. It gets the great comfortness from nano-air design, there is no typical hard shell (out layer) feeling (noise free) and very thin. sizing(more like a slim fit): I am 5`5, 143lb, with a broader chest. I wear medium. I initial bought small size as it is advertised as regular fit. But the chest and arm area is a little tight. Unless you are slim fit person, i'd recommend to go one size above. Overall, I highly recommend this jacket, but be aware of the sizing. I suggest buy two sizes and return one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lives up to the hype Waterproof, quiet, light, lots of pockets, and warm. The hood also adjusts well and is warm too. This is an excellent jacket. I was worried the higher side pockets would be a deal breaker but I actually like them and I am usually pretty picky about things like that. It doesn't feel awkward resting your hands in your pockets. The collar zips up high too which I like too for rougher weather. Very glad I bought this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid winter jacket. Great for commuting. Had to replace my old commuting jacket. Great insulation for the cold. Wraps around your neck with pulleys to adjust the size of the hood and other areas of the jacket. It's definitely pricey but... I had my old jacket for 5+ years so i'm hoping this jacket will last as long if not longer. The hand pockets are slightly higher than normal which is kind of strange but it's not a huge deal. Very pleased.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If a jacket could be my BFF, it would be this one. I'm 6'2", 190 pounds and bought a large. A medium fit well from chest to waist, but was far too tight in the shoulders and arms. The fit falls somewhere between athletic and regular. There's a a little room from the chest on down where as the chest and shoulder areas have a more formed fit. The sleeves are slightly long, but work great especially if reaching above head-level. With just a t-shirt, the fit is loose, but when layered the jacket is very comfortable. I've been wearing a Patagonia Nano Air for a couple years ago and absolutely love it. The only real downside to the Nano Air is it's inability to withstand moderate to severe wet weather. It just wets out too fast. Enter the Stretch Nano Storm. The addition to a near waterproof shell, highly adjustable hood, pit zips, inner pockets, and additional outer pocket make this jacket almost perfect. Almost. I've been wearing it daily for now for a month in temps from 0 degrees F to near 50 and in varying weather including heavy rain and snow. The jacket keeps out the cold and wind very well. It sheds rain and wet snow without any problems and keeps me dry. As the temps rise, the pit zips are large enough to dump excess heat very quickly. The outer shell feels like it would snag or rip, but has proved to be very tough without any issues walking through thick wooded areas and brushing up against rock. The only negatives I've encountered include pit zips that are hard to pick back and forth. The "hand-warming" pockets could be better insulated and have a slightly larger opening. These are hardly worth preventing the purchase of this jacket though.
