The Patagonia Men's Piton Hybrid Jacket is a wind resistant jacket for alpine climbing. The torso and elbows are made with Polartec® Wind Pro® fleece fabric features Hardface™ technology, making it smooth and durable on the outside and soft and cozy against the skin. The fabric is wind-resistant, helping you stay warm as you battle the winds on the mountains. A durable water repellent finish to the outside even deters light rain and snow, so Mother Nature can't ruin your fun. The rest of the jacket, arms, side panels, and back have Polartec® Power Dry® fabric, for super stretchy ease of movement, breathability, and wicking power. Three zippered pockets hold onto your handkerchief, lip balm, and three chocolates with care, because, those are definitely the things I bring along on the mountain. The chocolates always go fast.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice jacket, runs small. This is a functional, good-looking jacket. Very different fit from most Patagonia clothing -- much slimmer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from slick technical fit Whether hiking, climbing, running or walking around town, the sleek looking jacket does the job. Combined with thick baselayer and a wool beanie keeps plenty warm, even with light winds. I use the hooded version for alpine climbing with a light windproof shell if it gets really chilly. at a slender 6ft2, the large size is a perfect fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rocks my socks...well top I love this Patagonia. Let me start with I have a problem, I have 6 Patagonia jackets and I love everyone of them (equally). I was a little hesitant to get this because I have an R1 and one of the reviews said it was like the R1, it is sorta, but it is smooth and softer fleece. I am a 6ft 170 lb woman and I got a large because I wanted it to be roomy and it is perfect, really long in the arms and torso, but for long people like me, very nice. The slim fit makes the large not super baggy if you are skinny, which is nice! I got the cochineal red one and really like it and all of my friends are jealous, so you should buy one too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely love it. Great mid layer or cool weather jacket. I bought a second one. FIT: I'm 6'-2", 190 lbs, Dress shirt size is 16-35. Primarily a runner (Boston, 2015!), but I lift weights with a trainer once a week. I bought a large, and it fits really well. Snug, but not tight, athletic fit. Great fit for a mid layer.,,,,APPLICATION: I am an engineer who spends a lot of time standing around doing nothing (hey, I said I was the engineer) out on jobsites in cold weather. I wear this under a down jacket and a Carhartt Hi-Viz shell and stay warm down to about zero. After that I sit in the car. This week I shoveled snow for about 3 hours in this alone (I guess I was also wearing jeans) worn over a short sleeve silk-weight Patagonia tee and was comfortable at 20F, so it is pretty good on its own in a very active environment.,,,,OTHER: Combine one of these with your neighborhood bar and the right beer in your hand and you will look 10 lbs lighter, faster and fitter than you really are. Or maybe not...,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Slick, light and warm I love this jacket. It's extremely light and thin yet very warm. The pockets are mesh for breathability on warm days. I got black and it's slightly two toned. The windstopper areas are a slightly different shade of black which looks really slick. I wanted this jacket for a hiking midlayer but it's so nice I'm using it as a dress jacket as well. It runs a bit small. I'm a large but this jacket in large was a bit tight which I don't mind since I use it under a shell. The wrists are elastic which keep the sleeves down on your wrists. I've only had the jacket a few days and I'm already getting many compliments. I've used it for a hike, bike riding and as a coat on Christmas. It packs down small and light for easy storing during traveling. Highly recommended!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from For a tall, lanky SOB, this couldn't have been a better purchase! I'm tall. Like, 6'4", and it's really hard to find quality gear that has a decent fit. Weighing in at a meaty 180lbs, I'm even harder to fit, so when I went out on a limb with a size M, I felt like I was taking a big chance. Usually, I'm stuck ordering up at least one size so the arms fit, but the rest fits like a stylish garbage bag. NOT THIS TIME! That Patagonia even pays tribute to us rangy types by offering a 'slim fit' was an offer tempting enough for me, but now that it's in my hands (literally, this jacket hasn't left my body since I opened the package up) I feel quite vindicated in my choice, and heartily recommend such a fine piece of clothsmanship to any and every lanky dude out there who hasn't clicked "add to cart" yet. The only reason I didn't pick "Love It!" was because I used an alternative site who provided, not only a fella sporting the jacket, but also HIS measurements. I won't go right out and say where it was, but if you need something like that, it's out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and well thought out jacket. I have been wearing this jacket basically every day casually, but I took it on a two night canoeing trip in Ontario and it literally didn't leave my body the entire trip. It isn't very warm by itself, but it is nicely form fitting, clocks some wind, is easy to layer and has great pockets. I like my clothing to have multiple purposes and this jacket crosses over between technical and casual nicely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice jacket I always appreciate sizing info. I'm 6 feet, 185 lbs with athletic build and bought "L". I typically buy "M" in other Patagonia garments, but this is a slim fit. Arms are a bit long, but sleeves can be rolled up at the cuff if need be. Otherwise, fits well. Despite price (this was 1/2 off), Patagonia makes great gear and this is no exception - well constructed and functional. Can be worn as base-layer or on its own.
