Moosejaw Staff Pick - Jeremy L, Moosejaw Secret Headquarters

The Patagonia Men's Nano Air Hoody is a synthetic insulated jacket built to stretch and move with you during active missions into the mountain. The jacket is packed on the inside with 60 grams of FullRange insulation, a synthetic material that combines with a 20D nylon ripstop with mechanical stretch exterior and a 50D nylon plain weave with mechanical stretch lining. Let me just throw these two words at you: stretch and breathability. It's all about unrestricted movement and staying warm without overheating so you can hit the summit without getting held up by your jacket. The quilting of the jacket changes throughout, increasing the stretch performance during rock & alpine climbing, ski touring, and hiking. The slim fit allows for a base layer underneath, won't be bulky, and will readily allow a hardshell to be pulled on overtop when the rain or snow hits. The two hand and two chest pockets all zipper shut to secure personal items and stay out of the way of your pack and harness. Pull the hood on over your head and it won't get blown off by any wild winds. Pretend like you're doing an 80s workout video: stretch....and releaaaaaase.

Products on Sale are Discontinued Styles or Colors.

DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love it bought one and it is so good I proceeded to buy several - light weight, warm as a midlayer (though maybe not in subzero conditions), comfortable

Rated 2 out of 5 by from fit weird maybe its because there isn't much weight to this coat it felt awkward and poorly made which is something I have ever experienced from Patagonia. It was also full of static.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket I bought this a little over a month ago and haven't taken it off. It works great in all weather. Originally bought it as a mid layer for skiing and have found it to be perfect. It's light, warm, and just an all around great jacket for being active outdoors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This jacket sets a new standard I brought this jacket to Japan for backpacking after i received it. It was Spring over and temperature is about 12-18C during the day and close or below 10C at night. I wore this jacket and a thin t-shirt and felt warm walking around. Suggest wearing thicker baselayer if it is below 8C. When doing a short (but little strenuous) hike up, i didn't feel overheat; the jacket breathe really well. This is very noticeable when I switched to a down jacket which i brought along. I got overheat in the down jacket. And as mentioned by others, the jacket is not wind resistance thus best use in activity where you are constantly moving. I am 180cm, 68 kg. Tried M and S and went for S as it leaves me more room for a hardshell and. I can still wear a R1 fleece underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile! I've owned this jacket for over a year now, and take it with me everywhere. I climb, ski, and lounge in it! Wear it as a mid layer or outer layer, depending on weather. I was initially concerned that the outer fabric wouldn't hold up to abrasion when climbing or bushwhacking, but it surprised me. I've put it through the wash many times, and the high-traffic areas - mainly the cuffs, forearms, and elbows - are starting to pill. It'll be a sad day when I retire this jacket, but I already look forward to its replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm an comfortable Feels almost like a sweater rather than a jacket. Feels a little cold in Temps below 30 if you're standing still, but if your moving it warms up real quick. Comfortable enough to wear indoors and doesn't get too hot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Jacket I'm 6'3" 175 lbs and the large fits me perfect. Bought the Arbor Green color which is nice without being too loud. PROS: - Very light and stretchy - Very breathable - Excellent warmth to weight ratio - Perfect for any weather situation except heavy snow/rain. - Slim fit is spot on for my size CONS: - Material feels pretty thin and long term durability may suffer?
