The Patagonia Men's Down Shirt is a minimalist jacket for lightweight warmth on the trails of the backcountry. The Down Shirt is insulated with 600 fill power goose down, protected by a 100% recycled polyester shell. The durable shell is windproof for battling blustery winds upon the switchbacks and coated with a durable water repellent finish to brush off the occasional light rain or snow. Built for layering, you can wear over your base layer and under a hardshell easily with the regular fit and hip length. The jacket saves on weight by only using one zipper, the front main zip. The hand pockets are drop-in, which also creates two drop-in pockets on the inside of the jacket to hang onto the wool beanie you're saving for when the temp drops further. When the sun finally reaches its peak come midday, the jacket packs into either hand pocket so you can tuck it into your backpack until the temp drops again in the evening.

FEATURES of the Patagonia Men's Down Shirt

  • Center-front vislon zipper with internal storm flap and chin guard
  • Two external drop-in handwarmer pockets are set into the forward side seam
  • Two internal drop-in pockets are created by the external hand pocket construction

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great product, but fit was a little off... This was my first Patagonia purchase, and the product itself did not disappoint. Very light weight and great heat insulator. Only thing is that the fit was a little off for me; the medium size fit me well but the arms seem to be a little bulky and large.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from SHOULD BE 5/5, BUT ... EVERYTHING IS PERFECT, BUT: 1. IN 2 PLACES STITCHING CAME OUT -> I HAVE TO STITCH IT MYSELF AGAIN, 2. "BODY OILS" STAINS ON THE COLOR STAY EVEN AFTER GOOD WASH... OVERALL, EVEN THOSE TWO MINUSES WILL NOT SPOIL MY EXCELLENT IMPRESSION ABOUT "PATAGONIA". WILL BUY AGAIN, NO QUESTIONS ABOUT THAT. BY THE WAY, I BOUGHT 2 SINCE THEY WERE ON SALE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So light weight! I purchased this for my boyfriend for Christmas because he doesn't like wearing winter coats. It's perfect! Light weight yet warm & the wind proof is his favorite feature!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent. This jacket is extremely warm and holds in heat well. It warms up as soon as you put it on and stays warm even with weight. It's very light and would create a perfect layer in a system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, warm, stylish There was no puffy in my closet and that had to change. It doesn't get terribly cold here so I went with the shirt as opposed to the jacket. The shirt is still plenty warm and surprisingly flexible which is to say wearable at warmer temps (upper 50s). The cut and quality of this product is great; at 5' 8" 155lbs a small is a perfect fit. I can't believe how light it is! I may just buy the down jacket to have the variety because I love this jacket so much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great light weight jacket I bought this down jacket for a fall trip to the Smoky Mountains. Kept me warm at 32 degress in the morning but was still able to wear it comfortably when the temperature rose to the mid 60's during the day. Also worked great for hikes since its really light weight and packable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best thing out there! I just bought this jacket and it is amazing! It keeps you pretty warm with base layer underneath. Also if you ever need to you can take it off and stow it in its own pocket. Just be sure to wear a jacket over it if it rains!
