DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all-weather jacket As a Floridian going waaaaaaay up north in spring, I had no idea what to wear for highly-changeable weather. It's been sunny and windy 70F down to drizzling 35F, and I have worn this jacket every day! The inside mesh keeps you from getting sticky when you're hiking and it was definitely nice for fending off some beautiful, freezing sea mist during boating. Ordered a size up (XL) for layering; I'm 5'9" lady, broad shouldered with long arms and it fits great with a base layer and sweater underneath. Zippered pockets are also handy.
