Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Dank As They Come These shorts are 100% the realist. I own 7 pair and I keep buying more. Why? Because they are the best article of clothing I own. I climb for hours in them then I run to my nearest lake and then jump in(like a boss) and swim (like a boss) for hours (like a boss). I keep it real with these things. The 5 inch are what you want if your the realist because they show off your hard legs. I work at camp all summer and these are the only thing I wear. Like the only thing. These and my chacos and I feel like a boss. You can do anything in these puppies and you stay fresh to death. Colors never fade and I haven't had a pair let me down yet. Keep it real with these for years and years

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Have for every adventure. They last a life time. From fly fishing to hiking, trail running to kayaking, these shorts are just what the doctor ordered. These shorts have been on every adventure I have been on. The durability and comfort hands down beat all competition. Most shorts I will destroy in one season, not these however. I wore these shorts for 7 months straight in the Central American jungle with zero failures. ,,,,The feature I love most on this short is the huge front pockets. They have large drains to get the water out fast so you're not dragged down. How big you ask!? Large enough for the iPhone 6 plus or a large fly box.,,,,If you can only take one short you better have Baggies. If you're too shy for the 5" inseam go with the 7" longs.,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Baggies and the synchilla snap-t, are quintessential Patagonia products that everyone should enjoy. Let me start by saying that this is my first pair of baggies, but most certainly won't be my last. These shorts can handle any kind of summer adventure you can throw at them. From climbing, hiking, or a quick swim these shorts are the way to go. The elastic waistband gives some leeway when you want to go for a second round at lunch, and the drawstring allows for a more snug fit when you want to go for a swim. Fast drying allows you to keep going throughout your day. Iv'e owned mountain khaki, columbia, and north face shorts over the last few years but these have been my favorite. For my money these are the best all around shorts on the market. You can't go wrong with this classic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great go-to shorts, may need to size down if on the cusp of sizes I bought these shorts for Summer hiking and backpacking where I live, in the mountains of VA. However, outside of work, I pretty much live in these shorts. Hiking, kayaking, biking, swimming, chilling around the house, basically everything is better in these shorts. And, I've never been one to go commando, but the mesh liner allows me to leave my underwear at home and still feel secure.,,,,My only caveat is if you are on the cusp of sizing, you may want to size down. I am 6ft, 180, and I wear a 34 waist, sometimes a 35 if that size is available. I bought the large, and a medium may be a better fit. That being said, I haven't tried a medium, but I plan to. It's not a big enough deal to immediately replace the larges; they work. But, I will try a medium, and if they fit a little better, I will but medium from now on because I will deinitely be buying more of these shorts in different colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomber all-around shorts Now on my fourth pair of baggies, I still absolutely love them. They are a great do-it-all short for everything from climbing to running to crossfit and just sleeping. The integrated mesh is not constricting, and can easily accommodate compression shorts. I prefer them over say Nike shorts because the graphics don't fade or fall off after time. They are pretty much the same design as Ranger Panties, so a very basic, but good design. I am 5'5" and with a 28 inch waist and the XS is a perfect fit for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from had 10 pair last 20 years - new tag scratches just bought a new pair and the back tag has changed to a stiff material and it's stitched together with the size tag making like 4 layers of fabric. I returned mine for refund. Hopefully they'll [ if there is such a person] go back to the older tag method. I'm trying a pair of Baggies Lites for now - haven't yet received them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shorts for everything, running swimming or what ever Don't know about being a Bad Ass Mo Fo........but I am a 70 year old traveler on this earth.,,I remember these shorts and why they were called baggies. They used to come in little bags and I still have some. Been wearing these Patagonia shorts for 30 some odd years and glad they are still around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality I bought these as a gift for my boyfriend and he loved them! They only complaint he had was how he didn't care for the liner inside, but that was an easy fix to just cut them out.
