The Patagonia Men's Adze Jacket is a windproof soft shell jacket for going to work during the week and visiting the trails on the weekend. Polartec Windbloc
Polartec Windbloc is designed to block 100% of wind. The fabric is very durable, stretchy, protective and warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great overall jacket for any outdoor activity This is an amazing jacket. I do track and field and so far the weather hasn't bothered me once.100% windproof, decently waterproof(unless you get hosed down by the fire department), and its really warm. The microfleece doesn't seem like much but it's really warm, I was able to stand out in 40 degree weather without shirt and it kept me cozy. Yes the sleeves are long but not a huge issue as they can substitute as gloves. Since its windproof, the jacket isn't too breathable. An amazing jacket at an amazing price, anyone looking at this should definitely pick it up, won't be a disappointment. Also, I'm 5'6 at 120 pounds, and I'm able to wear my NorthFace Khumbu under.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Patagonia Adze Have only had this a couple weeks now, haven't had the chance to really test it as I would like as the weather has been so nice here, but the initial impression from when I have used it so far its this is an awesome, light, warm, super versatile piece.,,,,Used it out waterskiing early a few mornings, was super impressed with the windproofing cruising around on the chilly lake when everyone else in the boat in a regular hoody was shivering I was totally comfortable.,,,,Overall I really like this thing and think I have found my new go to jacket to toss in the back of the car or bottom of the pack 'just in case' Looking forward to being able to test it fully it once it cools down moving into fall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleeves are fine length Reading some reviews before my purchase I was worried about the length of sleeves, but it wasn't warranted. I am 6' 165 lbs with a fairly athletic build. I am usually a Medium in Patagonia shirts and this jacket is no different. The sleeves are on the longer side, but similar to my R1 Hood. Patagonia gear usually has longer sleeves than many other companies, which is a good then when you are athletically proportioned and actually using the gear for its intended purpose. You don't need to worry about developing a gap between your jacket and gloves while fiddling with your ski touring gear or stretched out on a bike. If Patagonia gear usually fits you, this jacket will too

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functionality and style! The adze jacket was exactly what I was looking for: a lightweight, windproof, jacket that offers mobility while I'm moving. The fabric is almost stretchy, so it doesn't restrict arm movement and the interior is a very soft sort of micro fleece. Definitely keeps the wind out and repels moisture... Just don't think it's going to keep you warm when the temps really drop. It's not insulated... more of a windbreaker really, so plan on using mostly for cool fall and spring days. If your stuck between sizes, I'd recommend going with the smaller... Unless you wish to layer up underneath. The sleeve length runs a tad long, but the adjustable cuffs will ensure they stop at your wrists.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Red = Orange I got this one in "Paintbrush Red" and it is ORANGE!! I mean, this sucker is bright and obvious. Whatever the activity is, if your party can't locate you in this, the next trip needs to be to the eye doctor. ,,Performance wise, I love it. Watch the video to learn about the features - I have nothing new to say there. Wind, rain and temperature resistance is what you would expect from a softshell. I do like the pockets a lot (look at the picture - the pockets go from the seam below the pocket zipper to the seam above the Patagonia logo). ,,Would definitely buy again.,,Also, Moosejaw price matching rocks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Paintbrush "Red" is Orange Up front, the jacket is awesome. I'm 6'3" 195-200lbs and the large fits perfectly. Even the sleeves are good to go (my shirts are usually 36" long at the sleeve). Everything you'd expect out of it fits with the dozens of reviews, i.e. here and on Outdoor Gear Lab, etc. The one thing I overlooked was the color. I ordered the Paintbrush Red because I thought it would stand out nicely on the snow or in the woods. Wow. It is perfect for hunting season, if you're into that sort of thing, because it is seriously orange. Not even a little bit of red to be found. Anyway, I'm returning the orange jacket for the Wax Red color. Can't wait for the weather to cool off and to use the jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, love this jacket This is one of my favorite jackets and my go to jacket when the temps are around 50 degrees or above. It looks great and serves it's purpose very well. Anything below 50 and you would need another layer. I also have The North Face Apex Bionic jacket and the Adze beats the pants off it both in terms of warmth and wind resistance and also looks better at least in my opinion. The Adze completely blocks the wind. The arms are a bit long, but I like it that way. The only possible negative for some people is the fit as it is super athletic. I am 5' 6" and around 135 pounds and the small fits me great but I can see that for anyone even a little bigger, it might be snug. But then, I would size up and still buy this jacket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for everyone I had an older softshell jacket for about 8 years now, and figured I wanted to get a new one for this winter. I tried out the Adze, Bionic, and Chromium. This Adze was my first choice, and though it does block the wind well, the sleeves are a bit too long and the lack of chest pocket, and smaller interior pockets were a disappointment that I didnt think I would really miss. It was nice to put license/cc into the chest pocket when going out. The XL was a good fit on my 6ft, 200lb frame, but the sleeves and lack of pockets were the deal breaker. I ended up returning and going with the Chromium.
