DWR tech

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Feather coming out I bought this for my son in December and I am very unhappy with the quality. The feathers have started coming out from everywhere. This was an expensive buy and I expected this to last at least a couple of seasons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, Warm, Looks Great Brought this for my son who had REI and North Face jackets prior, loved both of these, but he just outgrew them. I know that Patagonia quality always had a good reputation and decided to try this jacket as it was on sale and a really good price! My son loves the style, especially with the hoody. I like that it is light weight, warm, and very comfortable. I give it an almost 5 stars as it is so "lofty" that it's not as packable as his previous jackets (I'm talking packable into a ziplock bag size), but my son doesn't mind it at all as it's so light anyways. So far, he's been been very happy with it and wears it almost everyday which is the most important thing. Would buy again and definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality! I bought this coat for my 8 year old son. He is the only one in the family who gets a Patagonia because we can't afford their adult coats. I mean $300-$600 for a coat?! But I do have to say the quality is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet jacket! Bought this for my son. It is well made and very warm. We expect him to wear it a few seasons and then hand it down to his brother. Smoulder blue is a great color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket for my son It’s light enough to wear inside the mall and warm enough to wear outside above 30 degrees. Also works great as a base layer. He loves the added hood as it’s super comfortable. My son is 44” tall and 53 lbs. 8 year old.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful and made to last We got this coat in the blue-gray color for our son and the color is absolutely beautiful! It’s so soft and poofy like a marshmallow, and warm but doesn’t make him too hot. I initially wanted the regular down sweater but got this because we wanted the hood, though I was concerned it would be too warm. We ended up getting both and he wears the hi-loft hoody so much more. It’s a wonderfully versatile coat that’s super light and comfortable. Definitely worth the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, Good Looking Traded in a Hanna coat for this one because it's way warmer. Size S fits my skinny 7 year old well, with room to grow. Great looking coat, love what Patagonia stands for as a company. Would recommend.

What lowest temperature is this coat good for ?

Asked by: Jennifer
Hey there, thanks for reaching out to us! If I had a nickel for every temperature question I've ever received on here....I'd have a BUNCH of nickels!!! So, for the most part, jackets are not temperature rated because there are several factors that affect the temp. This includes wind, humidity, activity level....not to mention the fact that warmth is a subjective thing. That is, it's unique to every person. What's warm to me might be freezing to another. BUT, have no fear...while there is no industry standard for measuring the temperature of the jacket, we can still help you out: this jacket has 600 Fill Power insulation, which is great and super warm! So while there is no official temperature rating, this jacket should do really well in the winter! Hope this helps you out!!
