The Patagonia Black Hole 60L Duffel is a travel duffel that will protect your gear from bumps, bruises, and moisture. At 60 liters, this decent sized hauler is just what you'll need for a weekend to week long adventure, as long as you're mindfully packing on those longer trips. It all starts with the incredibly tough, 900D polyester ripstop with TPU laminate, which is also finished with a durable water repellent. It stands up to abuse from baggage handlers and turnstiles and is also highly weatherproof. The u-shaped zipper opens up to a whole bunch of space for you to jam-pack your clothing into, and there is even interior compression straps so you can do stuff in that extra fleece that you just HAVE to bring. Under the lid are two mesh zippered pockets for small items like toiletries and the side has a zippered pocket as well. On the exterior is a single zip stash pocket, daisy chains for lashing extra gear, and plenty of haul handles. My favorite parts of this bag are the removable shoulder straps for backpack-style carry and the fact that when your trip is over, the whole bag stuffs into its own pocket. Easy storage under the bed until the next trip rolls around.

Durable Water Repellant
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) is a coating that is applied to fabrics which makes them water-resistant, or hydrophobic. A DWR finish doesn't interfere with breathability, which makes it perfect for adverse conditions in the backcountry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing does it all This thing: fits in an airplane overhead. Fits in a car seat. Fits on a horse's back. It does it all - from an overnight get away to a gym bag, the 60L is the perfect size!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Duffel I ever owned This duffel is hands down amazing! i had been limping along for about two years after my last duffel's handle tore around the attachment. I wanted to wait a couple weeks before writing a review to ensure a solid opinion. In short, this duffel is very well thought out, very stylish, and most importantly bomb proof. I plan to use it for week long travel trips as well as everyday gym trips. Ive put it through its paces and am very glad I put up the cash for a more expensive duffel. I see this thing outlasting less expensive duffels by a factor of two or three.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good durable duffel! I bought this duffel for my all my clothes/gear to use for all the travel I’ve do. This bag is tough, well made and a decent size. It is perfect to use as carry on when flying! The material is thick and able to handle a lot of wear and tear. The zippers are also made well. This bag can take a beating! I’m very pleased with this purchase and might buy the larger size in the future to have as well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size! I bought this for a 3 week trip to Africa. This size is perfect - holds everything I need. There isn't any room to spare, but that's ok!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How many can I have? Just added the 3rd to our family stable. This is the best duffel I've owned in 40 years - perfect size, durable, comfortable to wear on the back for transport. It's even reasonably water resistant! (I've run to island campsites on a boat with the bag on the floor - everything else got spray soaked, but the black hole keeps things dry; mind you, set it in a puddle and it will not help you). My college daughter has two and gets complements from her friends about how cool they are. Duffle bags? cool? You need one (or more)

Will this be good as a carry-on bag on the airplane?

Asked by: Marci
Hiya! Carry on size limits can vary from airline to airline, so you would want to double check their limits to make sure this bag would work for you. The dimensions of the Patagonia Black Hole 60L Duffel are 23.5" x 11" x 13".

how do you attach backpack straps

Asked by: spdrake
Hiya spdrake, thanks for your question! Slide the narrow side of the rectangular, plastic fixture attached to the strap through the plastic D-ring attached to the bag. Once the piece is all the way through, turn the piece that is attached to the bag sideways so that it is the same direction as the fixture on the bag. Give the strap a tug, and they should be secure!
